Some stuff on the riots, and the city councilman telling cnn host to just call them niggas instead of thugs and criminals.
While the behavior of some of these young men and women is criminal, and could be considered thugish, i feel the councilman on the frustration that the media immediately turns to calling black people thugs, and no one else. They called richard sherman a thug for being too hype after a winning game. We know what theyre trying to say. You can just refer to them as young men and women who are out here committing crimes in frustration of whats going on, which is also in the midst of tons of other people who arent committing crimes, and do not support that behavior.
I think when the media, or even our president for that matter, are quick to label black people thugs and criminals immediately, regardless of age, or even context of the behavior, but will NEVER do the same for a white person, or likely even an asian, its pretty easy to understand why people are annoyed by you just calling black people thugs.
It seems that 20 businesses were attacked, and 140 cars burned, of which i hope the majority were cop cars, but im sure they sadly were not. I love the headline of one of the links below, “businesses vow to rebuild after blow to baltimores economy”, as if the riots completely wiped out towson, canton, fellspoint, downtown. Like one owner said, the biggest blow is the curfew really, because my waiters and workers have bills and need to work. Not saying those affected by the vandalizing arent hurtin to replace their cars and what not, but im just saying, in 2 weeks, it will look like nothing happened there. They didnt break into the city jail, set everyone free, and burn it down. I’m sure the sea aquarium is standing just fine downtown, as are many of the college bars.

This was over him walking by them and commenting that something stank, which was the shit on the officers shoe. They booked him for disorderly conduct, waited for him to come outside, directed him to an alley, beat his ass for 15 seconds, and walked away.
THIS ALSO HAPPENED 4 YEARS AGO, AND HE IS JUST NOW GETTING SOME TYPE OF JUSTICE. But dont fret, one officer still has the possibility of getting his job back when he gets out of jail.

Basically, Ervin Edwards and his gf get into a public argument in Louisiana. Cops for some reason show up, but after it was over. They arrested the guy anyway because his pants was sagging, which is against the law in that town apparently.
They hold him down in a cell, tase him, and pull his pants off. They leave him in there unattended for 10 minutes with no medical aid… which was too late because he was dead. Oh, and the cops were lying to his family about it for a long time, claiming he died because of cocaine and other drugs in his system. This happened back in 2013, and now the footage of what happened has come out and has put them on blast.
This is probably the worst one to me out of all the recent stories.
I’m so glad that people like that are getting exposed, we need to put all of them behind bars.

His parents dumb for telling him to turn himself in. The city went wild because of issues with police, and your first thought is to tell him to turn himself into the police, as if theyre gonna be like, hey, its all good, we know you were just mad, we can replace cars, here is a fine and a court date.
I hope they got back out there in larger numbers to protest that bail, because that right there is the institutionalized racist bullshit that got yall this angry in the first place. An 18 year old who smashed some cop car windows has a bail higher than all the cops who were directly or indirectly involved in this mans death.

Shit, if he didnt turn himself in, would he have gotten a million dollar bail? The judge is there Judge Flynn Owens is also known for increasing bails above what the state attorneys request, on a regular basis.
