The prosecutor tried to apologize and he didnt forgive him. He spent 31 years behind bars for a murder he didnt commit, and when he got out, found out he has stage 4 lung cancer, and will likely die by the end of the year. ALSOOOOO, Louisiana will not compensate him for being wrongly accused. He basically got a handshake, and apology, and an oh well, go die blackie.
There was no murder weapon, and no witnesses, but an all white jury (shocking) sent him to prison, cause that makes sense, but the 80s was filled with shit like this, as we see now with these cases being over turned. Racist, honky ass country. BLEH

I know he wont force a law for mandatory jail time if an officer is caught doing that dumb shit, or nothing wild like that, but just saying, “officers, please, wtf are you doing, its legal for citizens to record you as long as they are not impeding in the arrest, please stop attacking them because you can”, would go a long way i think.
