The Good But Generally Bad Police Thread

This is why Wikipedia is no longer a creditable website to cite sources from:

NYPD caught editing Eric Garner’s Wikipedia page and other police brutality cases - http://www.vox.com/2015/3/13/8208149/nypd-wikipedia-edits-police

It never, ever was. If you tried quoting from Wikipedia in a college essay to a tv news story, you would be laughed at.

Thats why you always check the references at the bottom of a wiki page, lots of people fail at this, I don’t know why

There are better vetted sources out there. I’ve had to find them before Wikipedia was even a thing.

Cop styled on that dude tho. “You gonna talk shit and then go 7/16?” That cop needs to shut his damn mouth. Cop or no, XBL and CoD, like Marvel, invite trash talking dummies like all involved.

That said, I’ve played in the town where that cop said he’s from and I wouldn’t be surprised if he DID get paid to “beat up niggas like” that dude.

Were they called “books” and “thesauruses” and “encyclopedias”?

They were more like actual books, film archives, phone work, and sources within government agencies.

I hope he looked the film taker in the eyes when finishing up.

The look on Bryce Charpentier’s face is priceless, like nigga has already gave up, he knows prison aint gonna be kind. Bitch looks kinda optimistic for some reason tho.

I guess he…

…beat the suspect into submission.

The lawyer for the UVA student releases a statement:

So I get it the cop’s side of it. The job is really dangerous. Terrible shit like this happens.

But then you see shit like this and you’re like “Yeah…some of you probably aren’t cut out to be police officers.”

Right now, I’m watching the discussion about the mentally-ill victim with the screwdriver, and while the officers did not come forth with their take on the situation (then again, they were the one who shot him down), their attorney did, who expressed that you have to “retaliate with lethal force against lethal force” considering that a screwdriver is “a deadly puncture weapon”, and a taser is not “the right response” to such an occassion.

Now, I can understand that response was formed, but I believe they’ve underestimated the power of a taser, especially upon the target who didn’t even remotely appear as a physical threat aside from being armed. A taser would’ve dispatched him easily, allowing the officers to restrain him, but of course, the boys in blue don’t think this far - again, I understand that neutralizing the threat by fatal means to protect yourself could be “a plausible response”, but how does it make you appear to others when that’s the only option you take? And now that everything’s caught on their body cameras, they can only form so much of a defense before being led to the graves of their careers.

In Anthony Hill’s case, that situation should’ve never led to the use of lethal force. In fact, it’s almost laughable for an officer to lack the capability to take down an unarmed and naked man without killing him, and the victim himself couldn’t unleash that much damage upon the officer. All of it is so infuriating and cringe-worthy.

Check out the manly way to deal with such situations.

Armed policeman stabbed as area too busy to shoot

Now this piece is basically a bunch of people giving Scottish cops a lot of shit cause they are arming some of them but am glad to see even when under attack they arent resorting to cowboy and indian tactics I love reading about across the pond, well not yet anyway…

It’s all about proper training

That’s why you click and read the source cited at the bottom of the page. and cut that if it has .org or .gov or .edu amateurs

Less than 1% of police die on the job. Most of them are traffic accidents. Iirc more cops kill themselves than they do fighting blacks and Mexicans in the mean streets

Reading that Scottish comment… Why are American cops so trigger happy? Is it because the “MURICA, GUNS AND FREEDOM” stereotype holds true? And they all just want to shoot something?
