I’ve been peppered before. Not once, not twice, but a total of like maybe 7 times in my life. Only 3 were by city officials whilst
in groups. Others were somehow being in the wrong place in the wrong time unfortunately near asshats that thought it would be ‘funny’.

I would assume that pepper spraying a 4 year old, could literally be, deadly. WTF

(CNN) – Police warned the 8-year-old they were going to tase her.

“Within seconds,” an officer fired darts from the electroshock weapon into the chest of the 70-pound girl, according to a lawsuit filed by the girl’s mother. “The force of the electricity shot through her body, lifted her, and threw her against a wall. After the officers had stunned (the girl) into high voltage submission, they pulled the fish-hook like Taser darts from her chest, gave her emergency medical attention, bandaged the holes left by the razor-sharp hooks, and called the ambulance.”

The reason the police were at the home was to keep the girl from hurting herself; the babysitter had called them because the child had a knife in her hand. All parties agree on this point – the girl’s mother, Dawn Stenstrom, as well as the defendants: the city of Pierre, South Dakota, its former police chief, Robert Grandpre, and the four officers at the scene on October 4, 2013.

But their opinions about the responding officers’ actions diverge from there.

The girl’s mother says the police used “excessive force” when they used a Taser on her girl. But Grandpre disagreed, telling CNN affiliate KSFY after the incident that the police “might possibly have saved this girl’s life.”

Because of the pending litigation, Pierre Mayor Laurie Gill refused comment on Saturday. And attorney Robert Anderson, who is representing the defendants, said he was “not going to comment on the merits of pending litigation.”

After an independent two-month investigation, the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation ruled in December that the officer had acted appropriately.

“Given the circumstances facing the officer at the time, it appears from the report that deploying a Taser was the best viable way to defuse the situation,” Wendy Kloeppner, the Hughes County state’s attorney, said in a statement.

“That’s bull****,” Stenstrom’s attorney Dana Hanna told CNN on Saturday.

“Four trained police officers surrounding a 70-pound, 8-year-old Indian girl,” should have used less risky tactics, Hanna said.

“One distracts her, another grabs the girl’s arm. That’s what they should have done,” Hanna said. “She had a kitchen paring knife, but hadn’t cut. She was a kid throwing a tantrum. They should have made an attempt to grab the kid, not use a weapon to throw her into a wall. A Taser’s not meant to kill, but it does kill. Many people have died after being hit by a Taser by cops. It never should be used on a little child. She certainly wasn’t presenting a danger to officers.”

“I don’t fault for the police being there because they were called. They were there. But what happened while they were there is why I’m upset,” the girl’s father, Bobby Jones, told KSFY soon after the incident.

One of the officers was a Taser instructor, while another was a hostage negotiator, KSFY reported.

Grandpre told KSFY last October that Pierre police had used Tasers nine times in the past two years, with the girl, who is identified in the lawsuit only as “L.M.J.,” the youngest recipient of the electric shock.

“I don’t think 8-year-olds should be Tased anywhere in the world,” Jones said.

Jones and Stenstrom are not married, and the father is not a party to the lawsuit, Hanna said.

The plaintiffs are seeking at least $100,000 in damages, plus punitive damages and “other relief as the court shall consider to be fair and equitable.”

“Her pain and suffering is going to be of that type that a jury will have to tell us what it’s worth,” said Hanna’s co-counsel Patrick Duffy. “Part of that is going to be a reflection of the fact that you’re not supposed to use a Taser on a kid. I don’t know of too many cops that don’t know that.”

Anderson, the defendants’ attorney, said he didn’t know if the case would go to trial, but Duffy said he hopes it does.

“L.M.J.” is getting mental and emotional counseling from a child counselor, Hanna said.

“What is it really going to honestly do for the rest of her life as she has to interact with authority figures and law enforcement?” Duffy said. “What’s it going to be like first time she looks in the rear view mirror and law enforcement gives her a speeding ticket? She won’t shake that.”

Since the incident, Stenstrom and her daughter, who are members of the Rosebud Sioux tribe, have moved from Pierre back to the tribal reservation, Hanna said.

Yeah…the taser wasn’t necessary.

Police gun down unarmed Teen in Missouri

The victim has been identified via social media as 17-year-old Michael “Mike Mike” Brown. According to Ferguson resident La’Toya Cash, he was shot 10 times by Ferguson Police.

Brown, a 2014 graduate of Normandy High School, was scheduled to begin classes at Vatterott College on Monday.

According to Dorian Johnson, he was walking with Brown when an officer confronted them and drew his weapon.

“He (the officer) shot again and once my friend felt that shot, he turned around and put his hands in the air,” said Johnson. “He started to get down and the officer still approached with his weapon drawn and fired several more shots.”

“He was a good kid. He didn’t live around here,” said Desuirea Harris, grandmother of the victim. “He came to visit me and they did that to him for no reason.”

All these threads and outright fucked up stories, am starting to feel that the police dont like black people in the USA or something. Also when people are in fear of the police, ie the government, they call that tyranny. Wtf is the NRA when cops are now just straight up executing niggas for walking/standing on the street? Would think they would be leading the charge and all that.

I’d just like to point out that, that is not how that works. LOL. Electricity doesnt pick people up and throw them anywhere, there own body does. Its just involuntary, and way more “stronger” and violent then that person would normally be able to do on their own, since their muscles are contracting, usually close to their limits, and contracting very quickly. People appear to be thrown by an electrical shock because its such a violent and quick action by the body, but thats your own bodies natural reaction to all that electricity coursing through your body.

None of that was relevant to the case. I just wanted to point that out. lol

WOW. Message loud and clear law enforcement. Not that it hasnt always been, but i see as times change, you dont. You just get worse, and more corrupt (law enforcement). That brotha was on his way to college monday. COLLEGE. I know he was excited, but is instead dead, executed, and now its just the cops made up story vs the boys friend, and any other evidence relevent to why he would randomly gun down an unarmed young man like that.

I will have to follow this case closely as the days go by.

He will be back on the streets soon enough. She technically resisted arrest, and what followed will be an unfortunate accident. She can still lawyer up though, and likely get a settlment, his job, and his reputation. I dont even think she thought he would be that crazy, but he was. I’m sure he gives two fucks too that he just killed an innocent child because he was offended by breast feeding.

That story is so wild, i almost feel it cant be true. Like really, we murdering babies over breast feeding now.

Brown then entered the officer’s vehicle and a struggle ensued over the officer’s weapon, according to police. During the altercation a shot was fired inside the car.

The officer and Brown then exited the vehicle and at that point the fatal shooting occurred, Belmar said.

The officer who fired the shots has been placed on paid administrative leave and has not been identified. He has been on the force for six years.

Belmar said Brown was shot “more than just a couple of times,” but it was unclear how many shots were fired.

Witnesses' accounts have differed from that of the police.

Dorin Johnson, a friend of the victim, told Fox 2 that he was walking in the street with Brown when the police squad car pulled up. The officer said to "Get the eff onto the sidewalk," he recounted.

"It was not but a minute from our destination and we would be off the street," Johnson said.

Johnson said the officer didn't get out of his police car, but "reach[ed] his arm out the window and grabbed my friend around the neck."

Another witness, Piaget Crenshaw, said, "I witnessed the police chase after the guy, full force. He ran for his life. They shot him and he fell. He put his arms up to let them know that he was compliant and he was unarmed and they shot him twice more and he fell to the ground and died."

Brown's grandmother, Desiree Harris, told the Associated Press that she was driving through the neighborhood Saturday afternoon when she saw her grandson running a few blocks from her house.**

LOL, so the officer is saying he pulled up to the two young men to question them, brown pushed him back in his car, and started trying to take his gun before the fatal shooting occured. CMON SON, why even speak if youre going to sound that crazy. So before you uttered a single word, this 18 year old was so gangsta, that he just straight up assaulted you, and tried to take your gun from the holster. The latter scenario sounds more likely. You told them to gtfo out the street, likely assaulted him as he leaned in to hear what it was you were saying, he resisted and tried to run, maybe even pushing you back in your seat, you got out, blasted him, then executed him.

SOOOOO, yeah, you killed someone for walking in the street. lol. Yes im siding with the friend who was right next to his friend at the time. I dont believe an officers word for shit these days, and if he didnt say such a ridiculous story, id give him a small benefit of the doubt, but cmon son with that story.

hopefully this makes people more weary of police and demand that they be watched at all times, as well laws are changed regarding their behavior. Not only are police not legally obligated to protected you, they are also allowed by law to harm you greviously if they simply fear for their lives or you “resist” in any way.
