The Good But Generally Bad Police Thread

getting the number of a hot female police officer on duty is like the apex of sarging.

prolly never been done, or only once.

You guys only see the bad stuff that happens with cops. Anything good that happens, doesn’t ever get mentioned by anyone, because the media just focuses on negatives.

It’s the same type of thing that happens in the military.

Everyone saying fuck the police and all that, have probably never been in a job or position as that or similar, in your entire lives, but just act like you know how things go down and what they have to deal with on a daily basis. If you’ve ever been in any type of job similar to this, being a police officer, a fireman, a soldier, a marine, etc. then you’d know and have a much better and reasonable perspective about these things, especially because you’d now know some of the good that these types of jobs do and get done but it remains unsung.

The truth of the matter is that it’s not the cops and the police force. It’s the select assholes that end up decided on being cops and working for the police, that ruin it for the decent human beings that choose to do so. These people that do fucked up shit to others, are corrupt, and continue to beat on defenseless individuals and all that, were already assholes and pieces of shit that just so happened to obtain a position of power in that line of work and ruin it for everyone. It’s probably even worse if they fool everyone and get into higher positions of power. The media doesn’t ever help, because all they report is the handiwork of and from pieces of shit, and to those that do their jobs properly and do acts of good and heroism each day it goes on to everyone else as trivial.

ummmmmmmmmmm lol since when is a fucking LEMONADE STAND AGAINST THE LAW

fuck that noise. I don’t care what kind of miraculous thing someone does, if they do things that fucking retarded then fuck police. yes, the ENTIRE organization. yes, BECAUSE of those select assholes.

by the way, I’ve seen shows like Oz and The Wire and I’ve frequented ihatethemarinecorps.com when it was up. so I know how twisted certain individuals can be and give the entire organization a bad name. but I still stand by what I said.

Sorry you went to the effort of typing all that post, but we’re not idiots. Everyone knows this fact

Maybe you aren’t.

SRK working in fixed binaries as always. Either people are assuming the black guy was loaded up on PCP with absolutely no evidence or people are assuming the cops are trigger happy racists with no evidence whatsoever. Only poster demonstrating any kind of middleground is the OP.

I don’t really like throwing names out there, mainly when it comes to people who aren’t doing insanely idiotic things. but you’re an idiot if you think most people are COMPLETELY unaware of that portion of text The Furious One quoted

Where did I say people were completely unaware?

What people say speaks for itself. Especially when what many posters tend to do is argue in extremes on this forum. For a vague example, if someone just simply says they prefer A over B, everyone automatically thinks that that person felt that B was trash. Like somebody can’t just prefer A over B without having to have B, be garbage.

Sometimes stating the obvious, helps, because people can be in a blind anger. When someone is in blind anger, they’re being an idiot. And that’s when obvious shit needs to be said, because if they weren’t overlooking the obvious, then some statements and assumptions wouldn’t be made(like automatically assuming that person thinks B is trash).

So for every 1 asshole move some already asshole person that happens to be a cop, commits, let’s just say fuck the entire police force. That’s being extreme, yeah?

I don’t think it’s extreme at all. being a part of the military or police force is too important a job to have even 1 asshole member, especially one that’s HEAVILY protected by law. if they can take the good, they can take the bad too and should be fucked accordingly

edit: as I said before in a different thread, it’s impossible to expect that you’ll have perfect little worker bees. so I’m not saying they should just magically know which people are assholes who’ll abuse power or whatever. but I don’t think it’s unreasonable to hold police responsible for the actions for one or more of its members fucking up. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect that a member of the police wouldn’t just be some asshole doing whatever the fuck he wants

Where’s your good? Some people that fit the ideal of what we(you, me, whomever) come to expect a job to be done, get shitted on by people that want to fully blanket it all with negativity(like what you’ve been doing).

When I was a soldier, I had to put up with a lot of negativity. Even negativity from ignorant individuals that had terrible things to say when we were at a funeral paying respect to fellow teammates and comrades. I even had to put up with negativity from posters on this forum.

These jobs are too important for people to go around broadly bashing them as a whole, too.

Spider Man had to put up with negativity too and I’m pretty sure he never did ANYTHING wrong. besides, you know, being a vigilante

it’s not blanket. at least not from me. blanket is seeing only what you wanna see. blanket is some shit like IGNORING the good they’re doing. I don’t ignore their good, I just don’t care if they’re doing good when there’s serious bad too. I’m sorry, but if an organization saves 50,000 people and then are responsible for 9 deaths they coulda prevented easily, I’m not gonna say they saved 50k people. I’m gonna say they let 9 people die. not because I’m being blanket, but because to me life’s like SNES Paper Boy: you don’t get to brag about SHIT until every newspaper has been delivered to every house + no broken glass, fucked up cars, etc.

if I were truly being blanket, I’d say that the police and military should be disbanded

omfg, you can’t expect perfection from imperfect people. At the heart of any organization lies human beings with flaws that others can’t control without depriving civil liberties.

This isn’t to say I’m siding with the police departments that have a fraternal structure of corruption, where many “good” cops sit idly by so they don’t get thrown under the rug.

yes I can.

and if we don’t expect it, then we end up with dead innocent people. criminals get away. people lose faith in the system and the system stops being beneficial to everyone. unless you’re OK with these outcomes, we should expect perfection. and if we can’t get it, then they need to be praised AND shitted on accordingly

I’m not even trying to say this is completely possible and that what I’m saying is extremely sound. I’m trying to express that something should help us WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more than it fucks us. and when it fucks up, it should not be ignored and swept under the rug

edit: full meanings weren’t bein expressed

Problem is the “position of power” attracts the corrupt individuals you’re talking about

and whatever the reality of the situation is, my impression has been that cops tend to operate like a gang whos loyalty is to each other first and to civilians last, and the cops who are not directly “corrupt” still cover for or turn a blind eye to corruption around them

So there’s only a first and last?

I agree with you about positions of power attracting corrupt individuals, I can’t stand it.

Would I be incorrect in saying that the issue right here, is that your impression has no grey area? It must just be black and white for you.

For you, and the cops that you have this impression of: the cycle is perpetuated. What good have they done for you, personally, lately… yeah?

Well if by “grey area” you mean exceptions, then yes of course, that goes without saying and I don’t think I need to bother to mention that there are exceptions to everything and life is one big grey area.

But I was commenting on what I think the overall trend of police culture has been

No one really expects perfection but theirs shit that goes way to far.

Personally, dislike the cops but that’s because the burden of proof to get anything done when dealing with crazy people that assault your property is ridiculous. Women can downright say “He hit me” or “I live here as well” with no proof and you have to go down to the precinct or give them your property because you don’t have receipts for items you’ve owned for 3 or 4 years. Literally had an ipod stolen from me because the police forced me to give it to a girl (stole it back eventually but big pain in my ass) … LOT’S of bad run ins because police bias/imperfection to the point i think it is a major problem and not just some of them some of the time. Oddly I’ve only had this issue with broads so might just be a bias towards females.

I think police are needed to at least give incentives against this shit but their needs to be a way for a citizen to prevent personal bias of officers from fucking them over without having to deal with getting strong armed or outright threatened by police. Remember one officer pulled out a taser and threatened me because I stood up to see what another officer was asking me a question about because I couldn’t see it from my vantage point.

pertaining to that last paragraph, geez. you must be a pretty big dude if that’s the first fucking thing he says to you when you stand up

as for that shit catering to women, I had no idea they’d do that. geez. so keeping the receipts for all my shit now, thank you for this heads up

edit: if you don’t mind i’d like to hear about your other police stories, here or in PMs
