i think i bought it off some guy who stole a box of god of war 3 copies. however i still have a reserve at gameflop hoping to buy the ultimate edition and selling this one.
Man, I need to find a guy with stolen God of War 3. I have the money to buy it.
i’m not much of a trophy guy, so i don’t think i got it, it took me 8 hours game time (i didn’t get all the special items) and real time–cause i’d die etc, 12 hours on normal. i think it’d take longer on harder difficulties obviously. still a great experience and highly recommended, though i wish i hadn’t seen any trailers or info on the game like i did for gow 2.

[spoiler=]I’m at the point where you’re in a room where you can see Daedalus from but it then closes up and enemies start to attack you; the first set is 3 sirens. By then you have saved Pandora and she is with you.
What’s the best way to get past this point? Timing for parries is tough against these bitches.[/spoiler]
by the time you read this you’ve probably already beat this part already…in the game from the first two anyhow we were trained to fight a certain way and in gow3 there are a lot more options than just parrying, so maybe that can help…i really don’t remember getting stuck in a battle near the end that you’re describing.
So, have any of you who’ve gotten the game beat it already?
If so, how do you feel about the ending in terms of bringing the series to a close? We’ve been hearing from reviewers who either loved or hated it. How do you guys feel about it? Please NO spoilers. Just offer your 2 cents.
I was sorta like wtf? but then again, i said wtf when i saw the very first boss fight, the hades fight, and all the other ones that game trailers revealed…
the story in my opinion in this game isn’t as well developed or they introduced new elements for things in the series that makes you take another look back at the series…in a way i feel that they had just wrote around the previous scripts as much as they could while keeping the focus on the one main objective in this game…REVENGE!
I think this game storywise is probably the weakest of the trilogy, because it’s too dependent on the old games for it’s story. kind of like quantum of solace to casino royale, there wasn’t much story there and it seems ad hoch now that i look back on it. but God of War 3 isn’t nearly as bad as quantum of solace in terms of depth of story.
so in short, at the end i was like wtf…meh, I guess.

If there’s one thing the ending gives…[spoiler=]it’s that Kratos will return; this time perhaps to fix the screw-ups he’s done.
Oh and interestingly enough; Zeus mentions Kratos’ brother apparently! I can’t think of any other person Zeus would refer to as ‘the other one’ when talking about Kratos.[/details]
Just a few more days…I can’t decide if I’m going to settle for the standard version or not, though. I missed out on pre-ordering the LE. I may just hold out and pick it up on eBay.
Has anyone ever preordered a game from Amazon using “release date” shipping? Does it actually get there on the release date? I’m asking because I picked that and paid only 50 cents less than I would have paid in the stores with tax. If there will still be some days of waiting, I might as well have saved a few bucks.

Man, I’m near the end and the game just went from fun to just wanting to get shot in the head for having to deal with such a stupid fight =_=

The rest of the game is great, but this fight just went back to what I hated about enemy encounters in GoW 1 and 2. Just frustrated now, but I think I’m near the end of the game and hopefully that’s it for me. I might play again one more time on a lower difficulty because I missed some chests for trophies.
I was thinking about hitting up the midnight release for this game, until the guy at gamestop said to be there before 6 pm with the receipt. Eff that, being as I don’t have my car up here yet I would have to wait in the mall 6+ hours. Tuesday after class it is.
Oh, and if the end fight is anything like the Chains of Olympus boss fight I’ma rage quit because I spent waaaay too much time on that fight in God Mode.
