This was a good finale. What I like about the show is that although it isn’t a “masterpiece”, it doesn’t try to be more than what it is, it takes steady strides with the plot while still being engaging.
Also, the characters are established well enough that nothing is completely out of left field. Lorna’s instability was apparent in the first episode, so was Andy’s Tetsuo-like teenage angst.
Oh and IIRC, Shatter can only turn liquid matter into crystals right? So that means they buffed his abilities for the show.
BiPolaris during her manic episodes must have that primal crazy pussy, rattling the bed and pulling out fillings when she gets her O-face.
Not really a fan of that “grrl power” massacre shit in the beginning, looked very sloppy consideirng that they were in the presence of highly intelligent, capable, mutants. It seems the writers were too lazy in trying to flesh out the Hellfire Club’s members and decided to cull them for the sake of making the plot more simplistic. That’s very disappointing considering how influential the Hellfire Club is in the comics and how each member could have had overarching motivations and depth. The new head villainess and her psychic twin cronies are really bland and hopefully a new antagonist will appear.
I just hope this was just a slight misstep in what is otherwise a great series.
Grace Goddamn Geely/Byers from Empire is on this now so I’m definitely on board. I kept thinking she looked familiar in the commercials and then someone reminded me the other day that is indeed her. This is one of the hottest women on television today by a long shot.
Even if the character ends up being interesting, it still can’t make up for the buildup they made last season towards seeing the Hellfire Club. I’m all for subverting expectations to add some spice to a story, but this didn’t feel warranted.
But like I said before, I’m just going to see where this goes. Reed’s power resurfacing is actually very intriguing, I wonder if his children are somehow causing this somehow due to them using their abilities?
I really felt for Marcos this episode. The poor guy just wants to be there for his kid. I wish he fucking fried the cuckoos when he broke free from the mind control.
I need to know how Reva’s powers work. I doubt that supersonic sound could do that to Marcos powers.
Reeva Payge can generate a high note from her vocal cords that directly affects the brain’s neurochemistry, distorting perceptions of reality. The note is beyond a normal human’s ability to detect sound.
I like the show, but I kinda dont care about the Struckers anymore tbh. Kate giving the hacker guy an opioid antagonist to make him go intro withdrawal then the drug itself to get him high is too much.
Marcos seeing him baby and being manhandled by the Stepford cuckoos was sad and you feel for him. I like Thunderbird , Eclipse the most. Blink is ok, but it feels she was too much in “sarcastic” mode the last few eps.
Jace Turner , the Sentinel Services guy, - Im wondering if they will put hm with the purifers then over time begin to see that there are goo dmutants and bad ones. Maybe he could become a version of the X-executioner character from the 90’s comics.
That guy was an ex federal agent with armor from different X-men villains who went about killing evil mutants.
