It was dead. It was just bumped recently by SirPlus.
I don’t know, I’m kind of hesitant about slash myself and I sort of get the same vibe from other people I’ve talked with.
I’ll admit, I think Abba looks kind of cool though. I hadn’t noticed before because I completely overlooked Isuka.
I think the last request in this thread got ignored, so maybe people stopped requesting because of it. Or maybe SRK just isn’t interested in #R anymore.
i’ll probably still get Slash once it hits the PS2. i got isuka after all.

quick questions about the sprite rippin’ hack: (i haven’t used the gosh darn thing in a while, but bare with me)
The last public release was Version 4.
Not sure on the date, but the timestamp on my file is 10/18/04, so I’m pretty sure that’s around the time it was either made or released (prolly on the same day).
As for the ring read below.
Once the ggxx_sprite_ripper.exe is running in windowed mode, and the sprite_ripper_ui.exe is running, you can adjust what layers are disabled by using the “Min Layer” and “Max Layer” variables in the sprite_ripper_ui box.
If you click the buttons beside the variables, it will automatically input the variables for the most common forground and background layers, and that will usually just display only player 1.
However, you can change both fields at any time to display whatever you want.
To get rid of Dizzy’s ring, I recommend changing the fields to:
min: 0x43200001
max: 0x43360000
It’s important to note, however, that this will also get rid of anything that appears on the same layer as Dizzy’s ring. So all her special moves will only display Dizzy’s sprite, and not the attack effects, like the ice bits, electric arrow and scythe, bubble, and ice spike.
If you want those to display, reset the minimum value to 0x43200000 so that those layers appear.
Or if you want all foreground layers to display, set the value back to the default setting 0x00000000
FYI.
Here’s another important note about ripping & extracting using the hack, just in case anyone did not already know.
The hack allows you to use multiple options for extracting sprites. You can rip visible textures. You can rip visible frames. Or you can rip an avi based on what the game displays.
Some graphics cards may not be able to “Extract Textures”. However, it is recommended that you use this option if your video card is able to support it. This is because the hack will extract all visible data in the order that it is displayed and place them into a folder as .png files.
This is useful because the hack will extract raw frame data, such as the texture used in Dizzy’s ring, prior to it being placed on a 3D model and wrapped around her legs. And it will be extracted totally seperately from Dizzy’s sprite animations and Dizzy’s attack effects, and so on and so forth. Which is really nice since it saves you the trouble of having to seperate everything yourself.
It is important to note that the hack will not rip the same frame twice when it is ripping textures, even if it appears multiple times in different animations. For example, a standard punch attack will “re-use” the start-up animation as the ending animation, but because the frames are identical, the hack will only rip the frames the first time they are displayed and not any time after that.
When using this method, you can also choose the option to rip texture alpha, which means that the hack will also record transpancy levels from the game and extract that data into the ripped sprite file. That means that a transparent image (such as a fireball effect or hitspark) will by placed into a file with transparencies.
If your vid card does not support extracting textures, I recommend trying it with the “rip texture alpha” option on. If it doesn’t work with it off, or with it on, then your card probably just doesn’t support it for whatever reason.
However if you can’t use texture ripping, you also have the other two options of ripping frames and ripping an avi.
If you rip frames, it will simply record whatever displays on the screen into seperate .png files. This is the most useful method for doing animations, since the hack will extract duplicate frames.
If you rip an avi, it will just record whatever displays on the screen into a single .avi file. Which you can later convert to multiple image files or an image animation using a seperate image manipulation program. This is also useful for doing animations if you have the proper software to do it.
In both of these modes you can get more accurate rips by using the “lock camera” and “disable zoom” options, which will force the camera to never zoom out, and not move from it’s current position (at the time of lock). You can unlock and relock the camera at any time if you need to move to a new location on the map (such as the player 1 or player 2 corners).

I’m surprised there aren’t more requests for the EX-mode character specific stuff. I know Sol and Dizzy in particular have a lot of stuff that is EX-only.

Ya know, now that you mention it, me too. In my case, I just never think about EX characters for some reason. Though I’ve always thought it would be tight to make video with all the ‘special’ intros from Story Mode, which contain a lot of EX stuff.
I wondered if it was just me. I only intended to get an eye thing goin’ on with CL/Scale, but once I got it together, I was like whoa, this looks familiar. Particularly reminded me of the rendering of it in the SC1 intro.
Slap some motion lines on there & it would appear that the key is running from something & dragging A.B.A. along with it.

Also, why do players always try to change stances? And why turtle when they are in the default stance?
They change stances to get life back I suppose.

You mean where the head of the key turns into a demon-looking ram-skull-thing? She has three little icons in the bottom, like Johnny’s coins, and from what I’ve gathered, it’s 3 chances per match to get into that mode, which is a lot better. If you’ve watched matches where she does anything, you’ve probably seen her B&B into a purple-hitting combo kind of like Chipp’s 236s, and then combo after, and I’m pretty sure that move is only in that weird bloody mode thing.
