I agree that in general, Bulleta is a better name than Baby Bonnie Hood, but in this case, it’s not. A little blonde girl with a picnic basket & machine gun needs a “blonde little girl with a picnic basket” name…not one that sounds like it could be a giant cyborg…

No, it’s not mine. I didn’t create it or have anything to do with it.
But if you check back a few pages in this thread, you’ll see that Blip and I gave permission to freely distribute both the PC #R hack (that extracted sprites) and the sprite packs. Under the condition that we at least be given credit and that the documentation be included with the hack.
So, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if a whole bunch of sites turned up with the hack and the sprite packs. They have permission to do it. I mean, it’s not like we created the game or the sprites or anything – they don’t belong to us, they belong to arc systems and sammy.
I didn’t mean to imply that they shouldn’t have it up or anything. Quite the contrary, I thought it was nice to see it all in one place, including the sprite packs which are currently only sporadically available through newwavemugen, & the Fanny sprite sheet which is just really cool. I just wanted to link it for anyone who might be interested.
While I’m here, are the color sheets &/or the color gifs (the ones that change the color showing which button chooses it) available anywhere in the sprite packs, or anywhere else? I didn’t see them in the packs, but thought I might have missed them somewhere among all the images.

There is a pack that contains still frames (not animated) of all the alternate colors for all the characters. The pack also contains PSP palletes the colors for every character.
I didn’t put the animated ones in any pack file. I guess I could if people really want it.
It’s ok, I just thought the color sheets & animations were spiffy, & had need of them, but I have most or all of the color sheets & maybe some of the animations “on a disc somewhere”.
As for ‘people’ really wanting it, I don’t know about others, but it gets my vote just 'cause they’re (the charts & the animations) neat, useful, & would make excellent additions to the packs. [rp]Don’t go to the trouble just for me though. I can get by.[/rp]:bgrin:

Yeah, pretty interesting. If memory serves me, that guy was doing the I-No rips on HerV in Zazz’s thread the manual way (screen capping and cleaning). Cool stuff, huge collection. IIRC, him and Zazz weren’t too happy about the hack.
Though, I might be wrong. 
I thought it was a given that Zazz wouldn’t be too big on the hack. He was the GG Sprite Rip King. No one surpassed him in quality, speed, & consistency, & he was duly praised for his efforts.
Then the hack came along, & any newb could do it. Talk about stealing thunder.
Fortunately, he’s still the king. I don’t think anyone who already knew has forgotten that Zazz is the real OG of GG sprite rips. And if they did I think the Leopaldon (“sup bitches”) & A.B.A. rips were a strong reminder.
edit: I suppose I should add that in addition to the thunder theft, there is the likelihood that one who is adept & prolific in their ripping of sprites considers it an art of sorts, & perhaps feels that something like the hack cheapens the art. But I’m sure the hack writer might feel the same about their coding. So if that were the case I suppose it would be one art form inadvertently eclipsing another to a limited extent, at least as far as the general public is concerned, as most people don’t care how the sprite in their avatar got there, as long as it’s there.
You know, the hack got created because I was ripping sprites the manual way. At the time I wasn’t using Photoshop either, I was using Paint Shop Pro, which made the task that much more tedious and boring.
People seem to forget that Zazz wasn’t the only one doing massive ammounts of rips.
At one point I was ready to give up. It was going to take too long to get full and accurate rips of all the sprites for the whole game, let along palette swapped costumes. And that’s not even mentioning some of the “impossible” to clean sprites.
My bro created it as a way of helping me. It ended the madness and gave us what we wanted. He also made it so that he wouldn’t have to wait for the rippers in order to have all the sprites he desired. I sure as hell wasn’t going to tell him “no”. I wanted sprites too.
Don’t think that I don’t understand the hack “stole their thunder” so to speak. But from our perspective it’s kind of childish/selfish. I’d get into it more, but what’s done is done. Now the sprites are out there and everyone can access them, and that’s not something blip and I are going to feel bad about.
I apologize if it sounded as though I meant to demean your, blip’s, or anyone else’s work, Xeno, be it rip, edit, or hack. Admittedly, looking back at my post, it did come off a little dick ridish & maybe kinda “Zazz got ya’ll bitches on lock! What??!”, but that wasn’t my intention.
I just saw you mention something that I hadn’t seen mentioned, which I thought was an interesting subject, & for some reason decided to ramble on, as you say, objectively about it, & I guess the results weren’t so good. So I’ll try again.
I think the hack is a wonderful & magical thing. And upon seeing it’s first release, I believe my words were something like, “Awww, shit. Zazz is gonna be pissed!”, but with a smile on my face. I didn’t mean it as any heavy shit. It’s like Zazz is the father of manual GG rips. Others, such as (and probably mainly) yourself, Xeno, are certainly known & appreciated as well. I’ve seen you fill more requests pre & post hack than I can count, & your work is superb. You all deserve tremendous credit for your works, 'cause that shit takes crazy time, patience, & sanity, among other things, & the results are magnificent to behold.
So the hack is released, & as you said, manual rips become obsolete, & while you, as someone who had done countless rips, seemingly & understandably had no problem with it, it made me wonder what the ratio of, “Dang it! That’s my claim to fame!” to, “Ah sweet relief! The madness ends!” was in Zazz’s head, or whether the latter was a thought at all, that maybe it was a labor of love which he truly enjoyed & didn’t want to see pass from the ‘analog’ realm.
I think it’s safe to say that there was at least a little of the former. It may or may not be childish/selfish, but I think it’s human nature when you’re known for one thing more than any other, even if it’s just in an online community, to have a little steam taken out of you when everyone suddenly becomes capable in your specialty.:bgrin: That’s why I thought it was kind of amusing when Zazz showed up with the Leopaldon & A.B.A. rips; sort of his way of saying, “I’m still in the game!”, it seemed like.
Anyway, again, Xeno, in no way did I mean to imply that Zazz or anyone else was wronged, or that the hack is evil, or that anyone should feel bad about anything. Maybe some of what I said was meant to lift Zazz up a bit if he happened to read it, but not at the expense of putting you or anyone else down. I mean, you said people forget that he wasn’t the only one doing a ton of rips, but I’ll bet the numerous people you filled requests for haven’t forgotten (I certainly haven’t, & I never even made any requests), & with the advent of the hack it seemed the opposite might be true, so maybe I came across too “Go Zazz!” without clarifying that there was no “Take that Xenozip!” involved. My bad.
To sum up, sprites are cool.
