HAHAHAHAAHAH
do you even know who MADE ggpo?!
Apparently it is made by a manager of this site and organizer of EVO. This guy also seems adept at computer programming or Information Technology. Sounds like a smart guy and judging by the raves, he made a great ‘‘product’’. On the GGPO website, It presents itself as a technology that allows people to play fg’s on-line, that should be adopted by fighting game developers. While on these boards it’s talked about as if it were a secret emulator for old arcade fighting games that are decidely **not **abandonware (SF3.3, KoF’02UM, JoJo’s, etc.) and illegal to download. However I see on the GGPO site itself that it’s forbidden to talk about getting ROMs. Whats more, most of these games are already on XBL or PSN with superior quality and none of them are equipped with this ‘‘GGPO’’ netcode. The only upside is that it’s free to download everything… with associated risks. But for me, I like the permanence of things.

New console systems are around the corner, after 6 years of XBOX and PS3 now. No word on how all your money spent on digital downloads will be carried over or if it was a 1 time purchase, 1 console only purchase.
Skull Girls and 3SO both use GGPO…
Marvel Origins probably too… Jojo? idk… but these new games all use GGPO…
Jojo’s HD isn’t using GGPO.
Edit:
Seriously check the thread not many are happy with the netcode in Jojo’s HD.
Crap.
$20 buys you Jojo’s Offline Training mode then?
Yeah, offline jojo’s so far the feed back is the port is the better than the dc version.
I’m still waiting for them to port the NeoGeo Double Dragon fighting game. It’s what it sounds like, except based on the DD movie that came out in the 90’s.

There’s also Real Bout: Fatal Fury which is pretty much a redone Fatal Fury 3 with new mechanics. It could serve as a place holder for Fatal Fury 3 since they play relatively the same.

yesterday MvC was erased and someone made a save game hack where you could play it instead in the Vampire Savior room.
Chaos and trolling ensued. Fortunately MvC was put back and order returned.
If even more players arrive, things will be worse.
For older fighters (except SF, MVC and KOF) you are lucky if you wait for 5 hours and manage to play 1 game,
the best thing is to train or play the CPU and maybe once in a week there might be someone to who you’ll play against.
I had to learn to play a lot of fighters in order to be able to enjoy as much as possible in GGPO. Not high level play, just enough to apply the basics.
So if no one challenges me in say LB2 room. I switch rooms from KOF to VS, till I get a challenge.
This is why I prefer Supercade. there I’ll get a challenge more often. everyday 4 from 3S, 3 from KOF2002-98, 1 from Samurai Spirits and occasionally 1 for Sengoku 3, Breakers Revenge, Metal Slug, Super Sidekicks, Street Hoop, Neo Turf Masters, shmups etc
In fact I enjoy those games much more than fighters. I became a multipurpose gamer out of nowhere…
but the games where I have the least chance to get a match on GGPO are the Last Blade 2. Despite being a good game, only few hardcore players remained and an unknown newbie will have a difficult time there.Occasionaly I play against some at my levels but the matches rate is usually 1 every few weeks.
Lag and chat trolls mostly defer ppl …but its a good place. I love ggpo
I suck ass with computer-work. I tried and quit at port forwarding even with the infographics guiding me. This was years ago.
Wow. You’re pretty wrong. In the less popular rooms there’s usually a certain time of the day when the players meet. Like with Samurai Shodown V SP people tend to show up in clusters of 5-10 around noon to around 8-9 at night. Roughly speaking. Good news is that almost everyone knows how to play and doesn’t lag terribly.
But if you’re having trouble getting games. Well, you’re on SRK. There’s plenty of dudes who play the old games. Start a thread. Find a thread on the game you’re into. Message people. I love Kizuna Encounter, I bumped an old thread I made trying to get the word out that it’s on GGPO. Later that evening roughly 4 people turned out and played. It was one of those ‘if you build it they will come’ moments.
Supercade lags horribly and 9 times out of 10 you’re going to find nothing but Brazilians and racist French people. Most of those Brazilians are going to troll you too because that’s what they do.
For me, it’d have to be the fact that I have never used it before and have no idea how to set it up, or use it.
i kinda live on GGPO. havent been on supercade for a while.
Are you still on Akatsuki. Wanna netplay in that one of these days?
yeah feel free to pm
People have lives outside of reading srk?
People could care less about a stick or a pad?
People are using a console instead of a computer to play games?
People just dont give a $&*#?
Step aside boys, we got a badass over here.
i like ggpo but my router does not. I can play a few matches while connected to the ggpo sever but it will crash eventuality. Funny thing is i could disconnect from the ggpo sever and play person all i want. I just could not send msgs during the game to them. so i never really got to say good game since most of time they left the ggpo lobby after our game.
plus the troll chat does not help but i mostly just ignore them. i am the only one in my group of people who like to go back and play ST. Maybe when i get a new router i can get back on st and have my ass kick.
