how important is a person’s internet speed in regards to lag on ggpo?
like if a person has 5mbps dsl, would that person experience alot of input lag?
also, can someone use kof 2k2um ps2 on ggpo?
or is there some type of emulation going on in regards to kof 98um and kof 2k2um?

hey can someone whos on ggpo help me out here.
i’m not tech/pc savy, so i’m stuck.
i downloaded ggpo. check.
i inserted the kof2002.zip file into the roms folder of ggpo. check.
everything is smoother than silk ggpo wise.
im in the king of fighters2002 room. check.
someone challenges me, i accept. check. keep in mind i have the ggpo emulator opened and connected. check.
error report pops up and says "kof2002.zip file found in roms. neogeo.zip file not found cannot run game."
ok.
so i get the neogeo.zip bios file…but i have no idea where to put it.
in roms folder?
i tried but it didn’t work.
do i have to extract the kof2002 and neogeo files before moving it into the rom folder? or do i leave it compressed?
any clue how i can fix this.
and please be detailed in a step by step sorta way coz i ain’t pc savy.

well i did that but the emulator doesn’t recognize it.
like i said before, i downloaded ggpo. i inserted the compressed kof2002 file in the ggpo’s roms folder.
so i launch ggpo, made account, signed in, etc,…went into the king of fighters 2002 room, someone challenged me, i accepted, the ggpo emulator was launched and connected, but then an error message popped up and said.
error no neogeo.zip file found. kof2002.zip file found. cannot launch game.
and i put both the kof2002 and neogeo files compressed into the folder.
so i got the neogeo.zip file, inserted it into the roms folder…but i still got the same message/problem.
like it doesn’t want to recognize i already put in the neogeo file into the roms folder.
Yours is probably outdated. I’m pm you the file.

Then you don’t have the bios. Even if you had the a blank zip named neogeo you would of gotten a different error.
i use ggpo and just run fraps at the same time to record my matches. it works great and doesnt bog me down at all. but i usually only play when i know there’s gonna be a friend on. cuz anyone left on GGPO has been on it since day one and they just ass rape me horribly over and over, in a manner that leaves me without improvement.
can someone pm me and help me get it running i get the no such room error as soon as i open ggpo. i heard 3rd strike is still there but i dont know how to get on it. someone please pm me with some help.
Get the rom for Karnov’s Revenge and go in that room then ask politely, the guys in there will sort you out.
Be thankful you can connect to GGPO, as this is really the number 1 issue why a lot of interested 2d fight fans aren’t on there.
Black screen hang-ups were a big problem from day one, and have never been resolved. All support stopped long ago, and the forums themselves hardly ever update. When it launched, with Marvel1 and Alpha2, it was amazing, but it has always involved complex router and internet settings to make matches connect, and after a few tries, people just give up and go back to Live or PSN.
It’s not really a controller or PC performance issue at all. If you have a dynamic IP address, then it’s really tough to configure GGPO. You’ll see some bragging hyper nerds in threads like this saying it’s easy, but clearly, judging from the lack of access people have on there, it’s a major stumbling block.
I used to be able to get on there fine, and played many matches of 3s, ST, A2 and MOTW, but now it just wont seem to connect after the challenger take up. I’ve keyed in all the numbers on the router, but still no dice. Xbox Live is just plug ‘n’ play.
If they’re still serious about this, GGPO should have greater visibility on SRK, and the dev team (or person) could maybe make it more hassle free for users to just jump on in and play. I would gladly donate around $10 again if these rough spots were finally ironed out.
Is Last Blade 2 on GGPO? I’d love to get into that.
I need to start playing VSAV more, but no one’s ever on.
