You might as well try to reason with a little more logic, instead of resorting to name calling. Maybe people can take you seriously.

There’s no “right” or “wrong” in play-styles (most of the time anyway - you can’t play rushdown with Alisa in T6BR, for example). If I play Lili, I know that I can’t fuck up or I’ll eat big damage - so I’d rather to buff up my damage whenver I hit-confirm into something.

I must say that I’m more excited for the Gem System now. We still don’t know whether or not these pre-order gems are available in game ala Smash Bros., and I still think that’ll be the case. Anyway, I’m not surprised by the EX Gems. It just seemed like a logical direction they’d take with the system.

We can just ban pre-order Gems as of now, since they’re exclusive to pre-order only and they pretty much outclasses the regular gems (like Divine Speed Gem 2 of any pre-order pack - it doesn’t have any drawback and the Speed Boost is 5% higher than a regular Divine Speed Gem 2).

Also, I’m not amused by the system.

This game will be really fun. After reading that Capcom Unity post and watching the video, the gems don’t seem that bad. If the DLC gems are indeed “broken,” then I hope that pride will kick in and that people online won’t pick them :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank god the “Auto-block” and “Auto-tech” gems use meter. Easy input also seems worthless since this game won’t really have hard inputs I’m assuming…unless it’s the the 3DS version of SSFIV with the Sonic Booms…

Part of me still thinks Capcom will cave and make a “No-gems” mode online at the last minute. There’s still a chance that tournaments will ban the gems and I’d like to think that Capcom would benefit from making a mode that attempts to replicate tournament play.

Because the gem number has been reduced to 3 instead of 5, the symmetric placing of the gem icons should be fixed:

Just looked at the rest of the vid and saw that it has a drawback, but having TWO levels of simplier inputs to pull off specials/normals looks like an utter waste of time. Most people who will know how to play the game won’t give it a thought, and considering they left SF4 shortcuts back in, command inputs were already dumbed down to a degree to begin with.

I just imagined an army of flowchart Kens doing flaming srks with the tap of a heavy punch button when I saw it and it made my stomach turn.

I just hope that the Pre-order gems are still just either early unlocks, or maybe, just maybe, we’ll get them as free DLC at a later date (say, 1-2 months perhaps). So people who pre-order the gems will still have incentive to get them, as they’ll have them before everyone else. And the people who didn’t pre-order will still be able to get them, just not immediately.

I have a very bad feeling that neither one of the scenarios that I came up with are going to be true though…

i had a feeling before the list was shown that the DLC gems would be better then the standard gems…but its kinda ridiculous how much so that is…I’d pre-ordered the collectors edition anyways so im not hurt in not getting any gems…the problem is for everyone else, i dont find it cool that i have access to more gems then the next guy~ but it seems that this will become a problem…now and in the long run if things progress the way they are going.

and easy commands…ok…10% damage reduction…Super Easy Commands…10% damage reduction…and it stacks?..so does that mean forward+any punch = hadouken? are they going abit too far with helping people…i mean shit LEAN HOW TO DO A FIREBALL FOR CHRIST SAKE~ ok maybe im getting ahead of myself but if people no longer have to learn the bare minimum…i don’t like the way capcom is taking fighting games…lord no if we get another EO mode like in CVS2…

anyways we can all see how Gems are going to affect gameplay now…but my previous question is left sort of unanswered in if Gems crap out after usage because that Vitality Gem will get Very annoying after awhile if it keeps activating if you know…its no EX Gold Sol Badguy but its regenerating health none the less…

but take my post with a gain of salt as i don’t fully understand the whole picture myself and hopefully we can help each other out in figuring out the “so called” balance with Gems…
