im still interested in the game but if this is a permanent mode in the game i will not be buying, and i think loads of tournament players and serious fighting fans wont either.
Gems would be fine IF they were purely a system for changing the way your character looks.This game is looking worse and worse imo.

The only thing that got me hype was that Raven/Yoshi combo lmao, it looked osm and makes me wanna explore. HATE the Gem system so far though, but don’t worry…we’ve all complained about it so far, if its really this horrible CC will probably nerf it or adjust it …Unless…ya know, they care about…Pff, making lots of money…

Honestly the fact that auto-guard takes 1/3 meter is a bit better but then I remember there’s gems that increase/effect the amount of gauge you get. WELP CAPCOM

This is pretty shitty looking honestly. Special editions of the game get extra gems? That makes it guaranteed they are looking at these as a microtransaction thing, which is bullshit. At least some work goes into making a costume or a DLC character. Not to mention the selling power part of it, but I guess fighting game players have resigned themselves to that now.
The system itself I can’t comment on obviously, except that this whole game has too many fucking systems. Anyway, the game is ugly as hell and has a lot of other shit I personally dislike in fighters so it isn’t as if this is going to influence my decision to buy it or something (lol).
I wanna say though, if the game actually turns out to be real bad I hope it’s the first recent Capcom title which doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt (waiting on sequels, patches etc.) from the community.
Oh and yeah we might be jumping the gun a bit but uh
Tekken tournaments banned this kind of thing, right?
I know Dissidia (LOL) had some equipment thing, and last time I asked someone that community was still trying to figure out a ruleset. Last time I checked customizing isn’t a good thing but hey who knows, maybe they won’t fuck it up too badly.
There’s always the chance that this could work out, even with the autoblock bullshit gems.
I’m not holding my breath, though.
