Buncha geniuses on here.
It costs me about $40 to $50 dollars to completely refill my tank, but only $20 to $25 to refill from halfway point.
I heard that keeping the tank ABOVE half is best.
Glad I ditched San Jo and moved to a place where you dont needta drive at all. I spend about 50 bucks a month for the train.
This is why I’m glad I don’t own a car.
I hardly ever leave my house, and when I do, there’s a fully-functioning mass transit system that takes me from Maryland to Jersey to Philly to NY.
Wait until this summer where gas is supposed to get up to 5.00 dollars a gallon. I am sure I am not the only one that finds it coincedental that gas keeps going up during optimum driving seasons and or holidays, then mysteriously go back down.
Uhhhh…gas has aleady reached $3.00 where I live, and I’m just about ready to start taking a bus to work…
Gas has been basically around $3.00 dollars where I’m at as well…I live in Wisconsin, and I believe where like…top 5 in highest gas prices I believe…which is stupid. This is stupid, we really need to find an alternate means instead of gas, this shit is getting ridiculous, because with my parents gone from vacation (won’t be back for another 2 1/2 weeks now) I’ve been having to send all of my brother’s and sister’s who can’t drive to where they need to go, plus what I need to do as well. I don’t even go out now a days, it’s freaken insane, I mean, I fell up $20 dollars worth and I’ve only filled up my car halfway…WTF?!
Bring out them solar/electrical cars into mass production, we need that shit now, will be expensive to buy, but at least on the long run it will save you alot of $$$, plus better for the environment.
I can’t wait to move to place where i don’t have to drive a car. I barely drive my car (blazer) now because i’m in the dorms (when i do it’s mostly like 10-15 mins driving), but i still pay insurance every month. Trips to go back home every once in a while used to cost me $40 both ways but now it’s gonna probably cost $50-55.:wasted:
I just have to limit my driving even more for the summer. I will only drive when there is a bunch of stuff to do in 1 trip. For those one purpose trips i’m either getting a ride or padeling that shit down.
As rude as that sounds its the fucking truth Tu shey.
Anyone else see the 8 Billion in profits Exxon made last quarter? Lame
TrueSepiroth: There already is an alternative to gas, the US just doesnt want to use it. Brazil has been using a type of sugar to power their cars for a number of years now. Of course it is about 50 percent cheaper to use then gas, so their is no profit in Bush and his buddies going in that direction. That really isnt even the issue to be honest, their is no shortage per say, Bush is just paying back the people that funded both of his campaigns.
Wow I never knew about that. Time go back to Brazil, and watch Brasil take another world cup while I’m at it.:lovin:
gas it around 2.80 here.
As for putting in premium in cars that is not needed unless your car has a high compression ratio like Viper, corvettes, mustang cobras, and the likes. Unless your car manual says it needs it then don’t put it in, believe me it does not make your car run better or faster modding does.
I drive a 1990 Corolla. Gets 36MPg, but it still hurts to fill up–$30 per fill up at about 2.80 per gallon. My wifes car gets a bit less mileage, since it is a V6. We are keeping driving to a bare minimum, or we all pile up in the Corolla, since the 5 speed helps with the gas conservation.
Best thing to do is to keep your cars in good mechanical condition. Change that fuel filter–clogged filter robs you of any MPG you would get. Make sure your tires are at the right pressure. Change the oil when you are supposed to. Fix any intake/vacuum leaks. Essentially, anything that would provide drag or reduce efficiency should be fixed. New plugs if you havent done that in a while, either. When I bought my Corolla, it was running a bit rich and had a good lack of power. 4 spark plugs later, the MPG went from about 30 to 36–the plugs were really old and hadnt been changed.
We really need turbo diesel cars over here. And not just the few offerings from VW or BMW. Hybrids are alright, but that battery pack isnt cheap at all. From what I understand, it is like $4000 to replace it, so whatever $$ you saved in gas, you just used up right there. Look at the turbo diesel VW Jetta: great amount of power, room, and still gets over 45MPG! The technology isnt even that radical!! They plan on releasing ultra refined diesel fuel over here, so I dont know why they dont start offering this as an option for their current lineups…
The big car companies trying to get your dollars
yep your right ultra refine diesel is on the way, but GM is pushing E85 to death the imports are pushing hybrids so all the big car companies has there idea to get your hard earn dollars.
KFJ
Sweet, as long as it doesn’t mess up the environment as well as being 50% cheaper, then by all means, I’m open to this form of alternative. Yes, I do know that Bush is doing his bs and making excuses, but I didn’t want to get into the whole politics crap so I left him out of my post, still, solar/electric cars wouldn’t be bad either, but wow, I never knew they had sugar powering cars, that’s insane, I love this idea, it does sound environmental friendly as well, good stuff Jae.
dudes, to fill up a 1965 bug now is almost $30; $30 bucks man?! that’s bullshit especially for a gas economy car that’s old school. Like my friend noted last nite “Bush’s yacht got wet and he needs a new one” wtf
