THE GAS THREAD- News, Prices, and Feelings (5+ years in the making)

i filled up my 15 gallon honda accord today…

it cost me $48.47

at 3.26 per gallon for REGULAR ass UNLEADED

and this is fucking Riverside CA… shit is getting ridiculous.

Why are gas prices going up anyway?

3.30 here in San bernardino - Haven’t been filling up to a full tank lately - sticking to around 25 bucks regardless of price.

With all that studio traffic loot, shouldn’t your chaffeur be doing it?

94 oct only on my VQ35. costs me $1.15cdn/L, which is around $3.75usd/gallon.

One day, all people will be able to ride will be zebras, vespas and elephants.
MAYBE the occasional spider-droid walker dealy.

Macon, Ga. I hate all you lucky bastards using unleaded. My car requires 93 ALL THE TIME. $3.10 per gallon

2.98 a gallon around DFW. In the city and around the airport it’s like 3.15.

The Moped dealership should be making some money around this time.

Cost about $3.49 to $3.69 for premium gasoline here in florida, but i doesn’t bother me because i always refuel my 05’ caddy deville everytime i get on half a tank. (requires 91 premium)

IMO…Cheaper to refill a half tank than to letting it get close to empty and having to refill a full tank.

That’s gotta be the stupidist thing i’ve read. It just means you have to shell out less cash at once…doesn’t make it any cheaper…

say half tank gets you 150miles. In order to go a 300 miles, you’ll have to spend a full tank’s worth of gas to do it…if prices are always the same, you’re not saving a dime. And since gas prices keep going up, you’re actually more likely to pay more because the second half of your tank probrably costs more…

i do the same thing as akuma 2000 an i dont find it dumb…i find it being conservative an knowing that if ya loot aint right you can count on that half a tank to hold you…

i dont find it stupid…

Well I was on empty and topped off. I’ve confirmed that $7 is all my bike will take.

I’m not a familure with the rockets but I’m sure you can find a good used bike for around 2 to 3 K. 500cc should be plenty (btw rockets don’t need as big engines as cruisers). You might even get away with a 250 (think that’s the smallest street-legal) on the cheap. You can always go bigger later if you get into riding.

And yes I’d say knowing how to drive manual is a plus. You’ll have enough to learn with everything else so that’s one less thing to deal with. Like with any car, you’ll still have to get a feel for your bike’s clutch but that’ll come easy in time.

I suggest signing up for an MSF class (it’s like $20 in most states). You can learn to ride before buying a bike. Plus you get a waver for your DMV driving test.

Exactly, I was at 3/4 a tank today and had a spare twenty so I used what I had to from that to fill up. No telling what the prices will be tomarrow so might as well fill up while they’re ‘cheap’ so to speak.

I GOT FREE GAS TODAY!

all i did was take my brothers debit card:rock:

nearly 64 dollars to fill up the F-150

we rotate every week paying for gas because i have to drive him to school 3 days a week.

The irony is the dumbest post on the subject is yours.

I’ll break it down so you don’t get lost:

Assume gas goes up 10 cents a day. If you both fill up the same day, you pay the same price. When his tank hits half 3 days later, he pays for half a tank at 30 cents more, and then half a tank at 60 cents more. Your dumbass is paying 60 cents more for the ENTIRE TANK.

Oh hell, he’s at it again!

well said. I was wrong about the cheaper thing.

But in all honesty, how much would you be saving? Gas doesn’t go up THAT fast (10cents a day). more than likely between 2 fill ups you’d be paying about the same price.

Come again? How do you save money by filling half a tank?

I don’t know how much it saves you, but gas does burn slower in a fuller tank (at least in my experience) so it’s not like it’s a horrible idea or anything.
