Also, nintendo used to take way bigger royalties.
I’m very comfortable with the idea that $60 might be too low (unless you accept the kind of stuff that goes on now with extra content and DLC).
But double an old cartridge game? That isn’t a reasonable starting point to me.

I wish I wasn’t pubstomping in CoD back when I could barely form an original thought. Maybe old SRK would have whipped me into shape. Think I joined Nov 2019. This place is better than Discord.
Fair enough.
My gamepass shilling is that it’s $10 a month and gives you a hella good library to play with. You don’t really wind up owning/hoarding anything.
It’s cut down on my spending greatly, and also gives you an excuse to try stuff you wouldn’t normally.

Isn’t it a leak from promo material or something?

That’s what I get from it. If that’s the case, I don’t see an issue with showing off anything.

If we are talking about scary games then tbh it needs to be a game where you don’t really have power.
Basically any game that lets me blast through my enemies with shotguns, rifles and rocket launchers is not scary to me because i have power and means to fight them off and it’s only a matter of time before you pretty much know how to abuse the AI’s pattern.
When it comes to “scary” games i would say Amnesia the Dark Descent ranks pretty good, Fatal Frame Crimson Butterfly. Not really scary but good tension build up in Alien Isolation as well and even though you get guns some levels in the Alien vs Predator game as the Marine campaign can be pretty creepy.

You are right there are many definitions of fear, and RE is certainly a horror game.
I guess my objection is, it’s not the jump scare “twitch shrieker” sort of scary.

Even though disgusting, i always found the monster design in RE games to be hilarious.
All monsters look like a overly inflated pimple.
Just nothing scary to me.It’s almost like Scooby Doo levels of monsters.
The Mr X sections of RE2 are still stressful as all get out.

Just use the Mod to have “X gonna give it to ya!” play whenever you get hunted by him.

It’s not the Mr X is scary.
It’s that he makes those sections of the game semi-random. Which on hardcore mode is very stressful.
Extra true on S rank runs.

You played Isolation ?
The xenomorph encounters are random. Basically different pattern all the time.

FlyingVe:
This is silly to me, RE isn’t, and never was scary.
Tense and stressful sure, but scary in that “twitch steamer shrieks” way, just no.
That’s the thing. RE2R builds a ridiculous amount of tension, so when a jumpscare happens, you’re too tense already, so it hits a lot harder.
I watched a stream with a mod that gave Mr. X squeaky shoes.
