Man, if Amazon was a retail store, I’d head right over. I just don’t dig buying stuff online, giving out finance information and waiting 3-5 days for it in the mail, assuming the site has been updated and the item is still in stock.
lol
If you’re really curious, go anywhere that has Friday Night Magic or host table top games.
Its the not showering for like 2 days and not wearing deodorant
You should know better than to make a thread like this. A gamestop bashing thread comes up every single year on this forum and its standard practice on any gaming forum.
Go to cheapassgamer, gamefaqs, neogaf, xbox.com, anyfuckingwhere, and there are threads constantly talking about how gamestop is a scam and such like we dont already fucking know that.
But yet you fuckers keep going there so I don’t see why the threads need to exist if everyone is aware of how retarded they are.
Everyone and their mother’s know only to ever go to gamestop if they have some super sick exclusive pre-order bonus or you need a hype game on launch day and absolutely cannot wait for online/mail delivery. Common sense. Cased Closed. Have a good day.
i remember one time I went to G-Stop to see if they had Blazblue in. I asked one of the clerks when they were gonna receive shipments of it. The dude gave me a clueless look and then told me that it was a digital download. So I went back home to check on XBL and PSN market to see it was there, and what do you fucking know… nothing.
Fucking really? If you don’t know when you’re gonna get the game in, let alone know what the fuck it is, just say “I don’t know anything about it, sorry.”\
I only purchase games at smaller businesses like homegrown shops or regional chains. Those kinds of small time stores usually sell older games, which is what I normally get these days. If you don’t have the luxury of purchasing games from independent stores, then I feel bad for you.
I generally have had nothing but good experiences shopping at the Gamestop which is close to where I live. I can name however one bad instance where I shopped there.
It’s holiday season and I am going to get Dragonball Z Budokai HD collection among others. The clerk does one of the strangest things I have ever seen. He brings to me a sealed copy of Budokai HD Collection complete with a instruction manual also sealed outside the game’s case. Which I later found it was pointless because the game already had a instruction manual inside.
Then I looked inside the game’s case and found the center which holds the disc was broken. Parts of it were all over the inside of the case.
That made me change my mind about shopping from there. Sometimes, all it takes is one fuck up. Now I am just going to do my shopping from Amazon
you dont shop at gamestop because once you bought a game with a broken case?
Broken cases have to do with the cheap recycled plastic. Ive gotten them from everywhere.
I dont mind gs. Hard to get honest answers about stuff sometimes, but you just buy games from there like anywhere else.

Come on. Picking on gamestop is like picking on the fat home-schooled kid down the block.
I only go for pre-order bonuses, though my worst experience was going there to browse on the 1st of the month, very crowded and stressful.
On another note, YahooNews is forecasting 500 to 600 stores to close this year:
Being a collector of games, I prefer everything that came with the game such as the case, manual, etc to be in mint condition. Especially if I want to sell it later.
My problem is basically the same as most other people who have already posted here. I don’t like buying a game that they say is new which is really just a used copy. It’s very shady
Only other experience I have had like that was when I bought a PS2 copy of Marvel Vs Capcom 2 [I later realized it was a bad move since the PSN/XBLA release has pretty much voided that copy] for new, only for it to be sealed in a “used” game case. I also noticed the disc had a scratch on the bottom. But was that like more than 5 years ago at a different gamestop, and that gamestop has since closed if I recall correctly.
So really. I have only had like maybe 2 bad or questionable experiences shopping there out of the 300 or so times I went there
i don’t know what this has to do with anything, but they were charging 35 for CvS2 on the PS2 back in 2009. Now it’s like 15 or something.
yesterday I went to gamestop to buy SFXT and the guy said to me, “have you played Dead island?” I noticed the Dead island: riptide poster on the window and I said to him, “is this about pre-ordering riptide?” and he said in a sad mood, “yes”.
Yo what is the logic behind selling new games, but then giving customers an already open case?
lmfao, this shit is hilarious.
this
would it really hurt them to put a plastic case around it (like best buy)?
i remember asking for a new copy of cvs2 back in the day and all they had was an opened case. i asked for a sealed new copy and dude goes “uhm… did you want me to go in the back and shrink wrap it?”
fuck that shit.

Yo what is the logic behind selling new games, but then giving customers an already open case?

No logic.
They simply let employees take home and rent the new games rather than the used ones because the used games is where their profit margins are.
Then of course they’re too cheap and lazy to keep a shrink wrap machine in their stores.
