Hm I didn’t think it had the most hype but maybe that’s cause I wasn’t into it much? Or that the crowd is more reserved than say… mvc2 or cvs2 lol.
Not wanting to get into whether Smash is a legitimate fighter or not argument, so I won’t say my opinions on whether it should or shouldn’t be there though.
I literally walked away last year when Smash was going on so I didn’t feel any hype. Just not my game at all. This year I plan to at least watch through it just out of courtesy. Which I’ll be doing for pretty much every game this year at Evo.
Do you guys think Virtua Fighter 5 will be on the circuit? I bought it and an arcade stick just to go to Evo south in VF5.
Been practicing with Blaze/Brad and I’ll be upset if its not up. Cus that means its time for me to go back to FPS to get my competitive fix 
Shrug brawl might have some hype. If they throw a random element in there lol. But dunno if they have it, it’s gonna be a good thing for smash players, just that for some of us it isn’t our cup of tea. I’ll go to watch to see if brawl is at least more entertaining to watch than melee.
So far I’m just hyped to see the finals of the first two games. Nice to see T5DR is in since i love watching the fights from a tech point of view.
People keep saying vf5 last year had terrible attendance and will probably be dropped.
I am hoping at the very least somebody else host a smaller side tournament or something for the 360 version at evo west.

Smash Bros Brawl - Definitely will get a spot. With the huge turnout from smash bros players at last year’s evo, they definitely prooved that they’re willing to travel and compete at the tourney. Huge community, and a brand new game means that this will be included for sure.
CvS2, ST and GGXX. Only 2 out of 3 of these will be in it. And it’s really tough to say who’ll get cut.
CvS2 has a good community. It’s one of the games where US and Japan can compete fairly evenly in the finals.
ST is a classic. It might be placed in because it’s a staple, and to hype up the upcoming ST HD Remix… or it might be left off so people can focus on the rebalanced mode of Remix next year.
GGXX has a chance simply because there are already a lot of Capcom games on the list already. The finals are never really that exciting IMO, and it’s pretty much Japans game.
All in all, I have no clue which of these 3 games will be cut.
I think AH will get in over GG. I just have that feeling.
Don’t really care either way- but watching the fireworks if that happens will be interesting.

also gg is not hype or just as hype as smash(which isnt hype at all) but doesnt have the numbers as smash. GIVE IT THE BOOT!!!

didnt smash brawl just come out…if that is the case im sure it can wait till next year when everyone finds the best characters, the broken shyt, and all that…not enough time to see the best of the best yet…

I think the fact that they haven’t had much time to break the game until it is a hollow shell of its former self is exactly the reason why we should have a big tournament so early in its life cycle.

I think ST is going to be there. I think I read that EvoEast is going to be the east coast qualifier for the US ST Tougeki team. So probably EvoWest will be the west coast qualifier. So probably the game will show up at EvoWorld. Plus ST is fun.

On the real though, and this may have legal ramifications, but if AH was there over VF, I’d go apeshit on the Tropicana lol, moltov cocktails aplenty. No hate, just saying lol.
