The Game of Thrones OFFICIAL thread

They were young. Like 10-12 I thought.

Are we really trying to say that Cercei is “mature” now that she isn’t a child? gtfo.

Pretty sure they were on the cusp of adulthood.

So, like 14~15ish.

They were extremely young, Dany was 11 or 12 I think when she married Drago. Time also moves a lot slower in the books, iirc between the first 3 books something like a few months passed.

For obvious reasons this was abandoned for the show and pretty much has been abandoned in the books. There is literally no mention of time or age anymore.

Nah.

Even Dany was older than that.

Even in the books.

Sansa’s case was pretty much the creepiest one presented, with her being 14 and so many older dudes wanting to arpe her.

Dany was 13-14 when married to Drogo.

Born in 284 AC married in 294.

Jaime/Cercei are 7 years older than Tyrion.

Well then.

I stand corrected.

Cersei still doesn’t act older than 3.

Dany was 14 when she was married off the the khal.

George fucked up the timeline because but one wasn’t supposed to flow right into book two like it did. That’s why time is so vaguely mention in the books.

Timeline wise jon is younger than Dany, Making Sansa at least 2 years younger than Jon, putting her around 10 or 11 when the song of ice and fire started.

It’s easy to forget while watching the show, where even the young actors age a lot. But the books have a hearty amount of early-to-mid-teens having to cope with adult things, everything from “marriage duties” to the horrors of war.

I seem to recall Jon still being like 15-16 years old when he’s made commander.

All that was pretty common in the ancient and middle ages. Someone like Alexander the Great was leading armies at 16, life was much shorter back then so people “grew up” quicker.

Sociologically, the concept of ‘adolescence’ is a relatively modern phenomena.

For much of human history, people were mostly married by 14 almost regardless of what culture you’re looking at.

Ned Stark also went to the battle to help Jon

she still doesn’t know how.

LOFL

White walkers must be allergic to polymers.

Regarding the Dorne storyline, I think a lot of those scenes were cut due to fan backlash (to be fair that story sucked dick). I noticed a few episodes this season only ran like 50 minutes, which I assumed to be because they cut scenes. That’s just a theory though

Well maybe they wouldn’t have had to cut them for being absolute shit if they’d kept Dorne a lot closer to how it was in the books. Instead of, you know, whatever horrific shit they turned it into by deciding “hey, let’s make something up for the hell of it!”.

I can understand making changes from the book, but this story was just so ass. It came off as a blatant “women’s power” advertisment. That would have been fine as well, but the writing sucked, the acting sucked, etc. Just overall a terrible story

We need a Bran flashback to Robert bashing Rhaegar’s brains out.

Euron Greyjoy is gonna fuck Daenyris up. He drinks hallucinogenic blue drank all day, has Valyrian gear, controls Lovecraftian entities due to actually going to Valyria, has a huge dick, and cuts the tongue out of everyone he even thinks may talk shit instead of just threatening to crucify everyone like 10 year olds threatening to sue each other on the school bus.

[details=Spoiler]I hate that the show takes the weirdness out of ASOIAF. The Others are just “a weapon” like a fucking stone-age League of Mutants instead of evil snow-elf ice wizards who take babies to replenish their numbers, warg into the dead, probably build the wall, and founded the Starks. The statues of the Stark women in the crypts are supposed to be unearthly beautiful as the Starks are supposedly part Other being the Kings of Winter. Bran the Builder and the Night King are supposedly the same guy.

They got a good actor to play Bloodraven but they fucked up his character. What about him being a fucking malevolent, probably undead entity with a root growing through his dead eye socket as the tree grew through him like the God Emperor of Mankind in Warhammer 40k? What about the Greenseers actually being the Old Gods in some sort of pagan rituals where they receive human sacrifices? Bran didn’t even eat Jojen. Coldhands/Benjen better be taking him to the Lands of Always Winter to rule his ancestors like Tamerlame.

Also was Blood Raven fucking with the Mad King’s head from the beginning?
