3S from the start always had more supporters than haters, just that the haters are vocal. In a sense it was hated no more than UMvC3/SF4 was hated. SFxT on the other hand definetely has more haters or people who end up being disappointed by the game than people who like the game.

Once again, Third Strike =/= vanilla SF3, it’s surprising people are treating 3S as if it’s the only game in the series. Vanilla SF3 is universally hated, but 3S isn’t.

As a european player, this game is pretty dead online.
I press ‘‘Endless battle’’ I get 2 lobbies, both from USA.
O joy.
Try ranked…not the same as endless, but I honestly get matched up with A LOT of European players in ranked. (I’m in USA btw)
My problem with endless isn’t that there are too few european lobbies, it’s that most hosters ask for beginners or low bp people to join. I respect that, so I don’t join. And even when I am welcome to join, if I win matches, the lobbies clear out pretty fast and I am left alone. We should organize something Slayer. Try to host a European lobby with private invites once in a while. We can re group during jibbo stream or something (whenever jibbo is back that is, since he is currently mourning his good friend’s death:( )

I tried this. Know what I got? “Derp, why would you try to get good at this game it sucks. You should pick up Marvel 3, OK needs a great Marvel 3 scene. No one hasn’t tried to get good at SFxT since a month after its been out.” Its why I play this game online and only online because, at least in Oklahoma, if its not Marvel 3, P4A, or Marvel 3, it sucks. Well, according to them.

Roll cancelling was discovered in CvS2 by someone in Japan. After it was discovered in CvS2, people tried it out in CvS1, and yes you can roll cancel, but it doesn’t retain it’s invincibility like in CvS2, making it useless. So you are incorrect in that people were abusing roll cancel since CvS1.
However in CvS2 EO for Xbox/Gamecube, Capcom removed the roll cancelling invincibility and also making a small few balance changes here and there.
I’m not crazy about the 3S save the 3rd one. I really only liked mvc2. I’ pretty sure I’m the only person in Oklahoma that plays this game. Ever since I have announced my dislike of marvel 3, its like they excommunicated me. All b/c I play this game. Oh well
Lately, I’ve been having a lot of fun with this game… I would really hate to see it die. It’s unfortunate that the fgc acts as it does sometimes. I asked one person’s opinion (very well known in the fgc) of whether or not he thinks this game is going to die and he told me it probably will because the fgc is so closed minded. I hope he’s wrong.
I know the gems are kind of dumb, timer needs to be tweaked, and some characters hit/hurt boxes are all fucked up, but I’m going to continue to support this game and I hope Capcom rolls out that fix patch they promised us soon.
Keep this game alive, people.
That absolutely sucks. Only thing I can suggest is if you know of even a small, tiny group (like 2-3 people) that play the game or are at least willing to put time into it, just play offline with that group. I had to do that a couple times in the past (particularly with KOF XI), and while it wasn’t the same draw as going to a larger event hosting the game, it was still fun as hell.
(Granted that was mostly out of necessity because… no online for XI)
If you see me online, shoot me a line, I’m usually up for matches if I’m not watching Netflix or ESPN, lol. :razzy:

One of the issues with gems is how many of them there are and how many of them are worthless. Why not get rid of a whole bunch of them? If Capcom would make it less a hassle to select them at character select, then maybe people wouldn’t mind using them in tournaments.
what do you mean? who wouldnt want a 10% speed boost for teching a throw, or a 160 damage incurred reduction after getting hit with a 15 hit combo, or 60% meter acquisition increase when the opponent uses pandora?
This is Amurica, where we have the right to choose. And we like having the option to choose.
