What fucking fantasy land did you live in if you think 3S wasn’t hated hardocre back in the day
Clearly he [S]is[/S][S] delusional as I distinctly remember that game being hated so much it wasn’t even funny[/S] remembers things differently.
Off topic, but would you consider yourself King of Raptors as well?
I feel pretty much the same way. Ultras are not really that bad, though the way they are earned is… meh.
X-Factor still does nothing for me, even as a spectator and especially the little while I did play. Most of the enjoyable and exciting comebacks I’ve seen were long after XF was gone for both players.
Lack of ultras are one of the reasons I love SfxT so much. I can pressure you without having to worry about getting mashed into 40-60% of my life gone. You get rewarded for playing well. If I’m winning, chances are I’m going to have a lot of meter, which makes it harder for my opponent to catch up with me with the team I have. I like that. Makes me sick we got gamers bitching about pandora being underpowered as a comeback mechanic. Why don’t you stop sucking at the game? Must be same people who are asking the government for their welfare check.
tl;dr

you must not play many ryus, hugos, giefs, rufuses, juris, chuns, kazes, jins, heis, vegas… meh i’m sure you get the idea. But 60% is standard for 3 bars that fill on average 1 to 1.5 times a round, and 40% is standard for 2 bars
Hey… I like to think that 50%+ Kaz EWGF combos are respectable (much more than the ez mode 40%+ Nina combos).
>.> you forgot to add lili. Solo 3 bar near 60% damage not to mention i get 475 off of one bar =D
Here is a an anonymous youtube quote about sfxt that seems to be highly agreed upon within such community:
I just happened to be doing akuma trials, so I smacked out the inputs a few times. Not once did I get an auto combo, I had to purposely mash the shit out of it to get one and my execution is pretty awful sometimes. The game is fine, people are just too full of themselves to actually realize it. I think that might be why this games forums strike me as being more mature. Sure some of the best players here have a big ego here and there, but they’ve kind of earned it.
I’m actually starting to see why people think this game might find more recognition in a few years time.
It’s called Raging Demon for a reason.
Hey hey hey, I take pride in knowing the timing for her juggle combos, which was kinda hard at one point lol. But pure EWGF combos are pretty awesome.

Btw I saw a people playing SFxT at some recent tournaments, and dieminion talked about getting like third at summer jam for it, so apparently its still around sadly its just not being streamed because people still dislike the timer and it doesn’t really give the game as much spectatorship to watch timeouts happen frequently. I hope when the timer issue gets fixed (probably not next patch, the way it sounds capcom wants to nerf grey health recovery, which I think unless its extreme won’t actually fix the timer) this game actually would be nice to see become a more regular game, atleast being a major title under sf4, umvc3, kinda like kof or p4a
Personally, I think to fix the timer issues, they should nerf gray life recovery, have the timer stop during supers and cross arts, and maybe increase the length of the overall timer slightly. Not to a marvel clock level, but at least slow it down a bit overall, since while games can end pretty fast, it’s still a team game and you have two characters worth of health to manage. Maybe make it so instead of 99 real time seconds, it’s more like 120 real time seconds (but still counts down from 99)? Not a major increase.
I’m fine with the timer as it is, since the only time I’ve every had time-outs in my matches is when I dropped a combo or my opponent is playing a very strong zoning game with someone like Guile. But I wouldn’t mind a change to the timer.
Anyways, it’s nice to hear that SF X TK is getting some love…I do wish that more people would stream it though. If nothing else someone should record it. I have my 3DS for such occasions if I am ever able to make it to a tourney…gonna have to deal with low quality video though.
Actually, sadly, they did. People had been abusing roll cancel since CVS1, Capcom knew about it but kept it in CVS2 anyway.
And regarding the rest of your post, it’s not that people should play the game “my way”, but they should play it correctly. As in, just plain use the game mechanics properly. For example, if a guy played Guilty Gear and he didn’t use FD, and he complained to you that the game is ass because he can’t get people off of him, what would you tell him? Or if he started all of his combos with cr.K and he complained to you that the game is ass because he can’t do any decent damage no matter how much meter he spends, what would you tell him? That’s basically it. Not saying that this game is perfect, but most of the stuff that people complain about SFXTK is just them playing the game wrong, using the wrong combos, not using the alpha counters, not punishing stuff that can be punished, and so on.
The complaints I’ve seen have been about movement (and there really is no way to change that in this game), grey health, and the combo system in general.
I tend to drown the trolls out, and when I ask people who aren’t bandwagoning, that is what they tell me.
The timer is really important so why can’t Capcom let you know who is winning. Usually it’s clear but sometimes it isn’t, and that’s when the timeout is a bitter defeat. I love this game, but still …
I’m starting to like the short timer now that I pay enough attention to it. It is hilarious when you have more health, and you just suddenly stop being offensive and they just sit there waiting for you while you mash the taunt button.
I hate knowing that the match is over before it’s over though. It does need to be changed somehow.
Tweet Capcom accounts, tell tell them to nerf grey health.
I’d rather they nerf the stupid characters in the game; I could care less about timeout whining.
The main difference was that the game was able to have enough people like it that it took the most entrants in tournaments at Evo for 3 years straight. That was pretty crazy turnaround for the SFxT of that day. SFxT has a while to go before it garners enough hype for that. 3S basically went to a game that only some people liked while a lot hated to a game that a lot of people hated and a lot more liked.
It’s fine to have a significant amount of people that hate your game as long as the numbers and people that support it are still large regardless. We’ll see if this game ever gets to that point. If you have a lot of haters you have to find a way to outnumber the haters.
