Dunkey has a decent point in there about ammo replenishment. I think it would be cool if the maykr drone headshot mechanic wasn’t reserved for them. Maybe if you landed a headshot that kills any enemy (that isn’t entirely a head like caco/pain elemental/arachnotron/lost soul etc.) they’d also similarly explode into ammo with different amounts depending on their tier (fodder drops least -> super heavy drops most).
That would be pretty satisfying and not something you could always depend on so the chainsaw would still have its place.
I looked up a review for Dusk and that game looks awesome. I miss these old style FPSs.
Has anyone tried it on the Switch? My laptop could probably run it, but I hate playing games on it.
Edit: welp, not released on switch yet and no release date given. Also, Wrath: Aeon of Ruin looks awesomely, but again, no PS4 release date… Maybe I should try fixing my laptop up a bit so I can play these games on it.
My laptop should work fine performance wise, it was top of the line 8/9 years ago, and while it wouldn’t run Doom 2016 or anything like that. It used to run Half-life 2 and Counterstrike (source engine) on pretty decent settings
The main problems are since it’s old, it has a lot of junk on it and really seems to take forever to load things now, but I sometimes use it for music things and I downloaded so many different plugins and crap on it, it’s hard to filter out what I need and what’s garbage.
Also, the fan is probably really dirty as it’s really noisy, and while I’m usually pretty handy fixing electronics and mechanical things, opening up a laptop always freaks me out.
Laptops are just like that. I got a whole box of spare screws I had ordered as I lost a single screw once for a HDD compartment. Don’t get me started on taking apart multiple old Thinkpads to get one working again. And the Thinkpads are easy compared to the majority of laptops out there.
Mac books? Hell no.
All of the throwback Indie FPS games have been amazing.
DUSK #1 stunna
Ion Fury
Amid Evil(I still need to finish the final chapters they added in. The artstyle in this game is something else.)
I played a bit of Wrath and it feels really nice, but it felt kind of pointless to play right now because there’s not much content yet. I was also salty that my progress was reset after a recent patch, so I don’t want to dig deep into it until it fully releases.
Also, looking at all these classic style FPSs makes me want to get back into modding Duke Nukem 3D or Doom… Sometimes, I wish I could go back to being a teen.
