You got it! I’ll only be dedicating my time to Spidey, Chun, Chris, Doom, and Wesker from the old cast and a small handful of new characters, but my major focus are on the first two as they’re my favorites by far.

First thing I’m doing is testing combos using her OTG and her (new… if any) reset options though.

Hey yall, just trying to share some matches. I main Chun Li, and I’m really good with her(no lightning kick spam lol). But yeah, here’s my channel and a vid of a few matches I had online.

Chun-li

  • M, cr.M can be jump canceled.

  • Yosokyaku can OTG.

  • Slightly increased priority of Hyakuretsukyaku.

  • Adjusted so Kikoanken is easier to perform.

  • Decreased startup of Tenshokyaku.

  • Increased untechable time from last hit of Tenshokyaku.

  • Can act after an Air Tenshokyaku.

  • Lowered arc of Air Tenshokyaku L.

  • Added new move “EX Spinning Bird Kick.”

  • Additional hits can be added to Kikosho through rapid buttons presses.


Whats Yosokyaku?

Based on a youtube video of SF4. Yosokyaku is the stomp in the air. Command “Down + M”.

Thank you Capcom. Chun just got a WHOLE lot better. She’s acually pretty good now when you think of the usefulness of her lightning legs assist.
EDIT: Her otg would probabbly require some strict timing kinda like Akuma’s but I aint mad.

chun is a better character already… stomp otg and cr. jump cancelable and you can finally use upkicks now? Good right? No complains from me, Just not so easy combos.

wait… so how are we supposed to use her otg?

after an air combo, land instant airdash d.M? then she’ll be in the air a bit right…? and won’t hit stun kick in and make then drop off…? maybe with an assist…

the game is more zoning oriented now so I think chun-li will have an big trouble still… combos from stomp OTG will be easy IMO

I just hope that Chun actually hits harder. I suppose and hope changes like increase in damage in moves are not part of the changelog because making combos with chun wasn’t the problem but making damage and approaching were the big problems.

btw with this changes I think Chun can actually touch the top of the stages. Super jump->Tenshokyaku->jump-Tenshokyaku->jump->Tenshokyaku and we also have more mobility as we can cancel tenshokyaku into airdashes.

damage was never a problem for her… seriuslly… aproaching was buffed a bit with tenshoukyaku and cr.M jump cancel but I still am a bit worried…

Yup it’s the stomps/“toe taps” from SF4.

lol @ Kikosho being the mashable super. I really like the other changes, especially an actual OTG now. :lovin:

They gave her an OTG! Also MORE priority on lightning legs? Woooo.

Hopefully she’ll be able to headstomp -> legs -> land -> S for a relaunch. It’s too early to say for sure, but that would be great if it worked.

I like the changes for making her game scarier up close. People already hate the priority on legs and Wolverine’s nerfs plus Chun’s buffs means if she goes into a one on one against Wolvie that is probably like a 6/4 to 7/3 matchup in her favor regardless of assists. A buff at all to her legs priority is hilarious. With how much work it takes to get in with Chun even in Vanilla she really needed her own OTG and stop relying on a character that barely needed any assist help at all to be S tier just so she can be less C tier.

They did nothing to buff her arguably useless fireball game or improve her ability to get in but…at least when she gets in it’ll be a lot scairer. She sounds like the Rufus of MVC3 at this point. Execution based, annoying rushdown character. It’s just a matter of will Chun be able to do anything but stomp on other rushdown characters? We’ll see.

hey, man, they changed her fireball so that it’s now (probably) a QCF instead of HCF. Clearly they want her to be a zoner.

no get in plus buffed zoning characters = shit
never had a problem with getting rushed down so ex sbk seems stupid for her.
ex kikoken ala sf4 would have been much more welcome. or at the VERY least high durability on her h kikoken.

her needs werent really addressed i solved her otg issues with tacs and assists. she still has fuck all chance of getting in against good players.
