For start Chun-li need a OTG, better Hit Stun on her jump “S” (Like the jump “S” of Wesker, you have the whole millenium to continue your combo). Need better range and priority on her normals. Better Damage output on her combos. For my opnion her ideal OTG will be Hazan-Chu having the property of jump cancel like Cat Touch of Felicia and at same time overhead for the mix-up game.
I think what she needs is a better hit box on her jumping M so it crosses up more better, OTG obviously, her Xfactor level 3 sucks to be honest it seems great but you can easily lame her out what makes her Xfactor good is her overhead is fast but you can just negate it by super jumping and running to escape the mixup or if you have a flight character even better.
After good players doing this to me after the game was 2 months old or so, I pretty much resigned myself to only using Chun as #1 or #2 slot on the team.

Okay just talked to my boy…he couldn’t test a lot due to long lines and them pushing you off after one game but here’s what I got:
-No OTGs. He tried every move in her arsenal and unless something is tricky/changed in the final, she has none.
-Crouching Light still hits Mid/Does not hit low.
-Air dash seems unchanged
-She does slightly more damage but honestly, she feels exactly the same as vanilla he said basically.
Profound.

Meanwhile, Capcom continues to give out random buffs to everyone else, even if they don’t need it. Sometimes I wonder if a group of monkey’s balanced the game. Then I realize that the monkey’s could do a better job. The overall rebalancing of UMvC3 just seems so random that I still haven’t made up my mind if I want to purchase it or not.
I’m so fucking pissed at capcom, people. MVC 3 Chun li reeks of laziness. They just took the same animations from her mvc 2 normals, shoved a level 3 which whiffs when you most need and made a Chun li iteration which does not dish out damage AND has shit normals (rangewise, horrible priority,bad startup and recovery, her wtf cr.A, etc). Her fairly damaging combos require tremendous dexterity for poor damage (gets good meter, yes, but there are better battery characters in the roster). They should’ve made a SF4-esque chun, with her normals (could you guys imagine her st.hk, jp.Mk, jp. HK in MVC3??), with the hazanshu otg so people doesn’t just use her as a lightning leg machine, she should have a 8 way dash, since her ground aproach is poor and her air approach is too obvious…anyways, I’m super pissed about those changes and venting frustration since she received so much. Her playstile is always pretty flashy and diverse, and looks ugly in this game…sorry for the completely useless post guys, this thread only receives updates from time to time and expectations towards good data must be pretty high…my hopes are always up when the title is written in bold letters, anyways…lol
I’m pretty disappointed they didn’t give her a OTG attack as well, its like they forgot she existed in UMVC3.

Wow! This gives me some hope! I was talking to my roommate earlier about how it was unfair that Hulk gets buffs, along with every other random ass character and yet Chun gets NOTHING! It’s probably something that my friends over looked. After all, no one knew Spider-Man had an OTG buff until someone randomly discovered it by accident mid match at a panel.
Still, I’m very excited thanks to this! And even though it’s still a ways a way, if no one gets their hands on the game in the next few weeks, I have some connections to get some info probably a few days before the game drops. So… if we have nothing new until that time, I’ve got you guys covered.
Are we all 100% sure she doesn’t have another new move outside of EX SBK? Are we sure that move doesn’t OTG? Haggar’s c.H OTGs, so maybe Chun has a normal that does the same. Maximillian has a copy of the game, and though I’m not sure if it’s of the final build or not, maybe we can all ask him to see if she has one or not.

Also, to move away from the OTG craze, a question I’ve been wondering for awhile is, how much was Chun’s damage increase? Is it Wesker level raw damage now? Or barely noticeable?

tvc chun was fine, mvc2 chun was kinda shitty… mvc1 chun was dope and had some serious swag… i wont go on and on and on but seriously… did someone at capcom get fucked up in 3s so badly they took it out on mvc3 chun =’(
Chun-Li NOT looking better in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is the MAIN REASON why I’m not purchasing it.
Morrigan got some buffs. Storm looks fine, but my all-time favorite is lookin’ pretty "Ass Edition."
It’s not like I’m asking for Shadow Lady, hell… the main thing I ask for is Kikosho to OTG, but now I want “pink EX SBK” to be [d]u+S, because letting my opponent know that I’m playing SFIV is just stupid as hell, to be honest…

I really like Chun Li, but I wouldnt buy a game just because she is in.
When I buy a game, I look for mechanics and how the game flows… I believe its the same for everybody.
So yeah, you will buy the game after all.
Even if she does have an OTG she still will be very bad due to how easily she can get lamed out, she needs hitbox improvements and buffs on her normals, and they should let her kikokens go full screen on all of them, its not like their super amazing that they need to have really limited range
