-_- your suppose to use Death early on…its how i got tier 3 weapons in chapter 12. your overall stats are going to be low compared some beastly ones post game…like Sazh attack or magic going well over into 5K (pycrons/eclipse +Genji glove, rank3 power glove and Rank3 shamans mark). I feel bad that people dont give Sazh a chance because his base stats are lower then everyone else, but his gear makes him hella strong.
Tier 3 weapons are bad for ability sets tho because they kill off a synthesis slot…so example would be…Lightnings LionHeart(arguably her best gunblade next to the axis blade) has the ability quickstagger, combined with gestalt accessory, you get the ability Random instant chain(one of best abilities in the whole game) more will give you a lack luster ability. however the tier 3 version has the native ability Independent…which fucks over your synthsis ability. so you have to equip one more accessory in that family to get the extra ability…as this can be potentially bad when needing all your accessories for strong marks like mission 64(having high% of wind resistance is a must+ Imperial amulets and Genji gloves makes this fight easier)

I really hate retailer exclusives. I’m excited for the CE, but according to this article “GameStop offers an alternate costume for Sarah, Amazon a unique battle against the Omega boss (which will then join your party after defeating it), and Best Buy a hardcover book that bridges the stories of Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2. .” I want them all. Though the costume for Sarah is lower on my list.
I’m just going to come out and say fuck Square Enix and FF13 is trash. I’ve been playing Final Fantasy
since 7 and beat everyone of them up to 12. I purchased FF13 in hope that I would be getting the same
marvelous experience the last 6 games gave me. Instead I get a extremely linear game, boring, cliche storyline,
and worst cast of characters. I don’t if maybe its just me but I haven’t liked nearly any of the games produced
since Square(soft) merged with Enix.
It isn’t just you. I feel a lot of the people who started before X hate the new ones, while people who started with X enjoy the newer ones. I started with X, and XIII and XII are my two favorite RPGs. I still haven’t beat I, II, V, or VI, but I’ve played enough of the older ones to know that I prefer the newer ones. IX had an excellent story though.
That seems to be the general consensus. I am a little weird though, I like 7,8, 10, 13. Not a big fan of 9, and 12 (11 was online so didn’t touch that shit).
Don’t ask my why either because I wouldn’t be able to explain it.
I started playing Final Fantasy with 7. But it is no where near my favorite. FFIX or II are probably my favorites. Different day different answer to which is THE favorite though.
I love X, X-2 and XII. I pretty much hate FF6 and 7.
www.squallsdead.com made me appreciate FF8 a lot more. I use to hate the game but I now I find the story really unique and interesting. And despite all the bitching and moaning, Squall is probably the deepest FF protagonist in the series.
WOAH I just read that squallisdead website and its so true. I already loved FF8 before but this really put a twist on
the storyline and how I see the game.
Heh you’re kinda like me. I don’t like 6 that much either. Very over rated imo. I love 5, 7, 9, X-2, and XII. I like 8 and X. I like absolutely bonkers/busted 8 is. That games so fun to just make stupid builds in and run train heh. I also adore Triple Triad and wasted many many hours just playing that card game alone. Best FF mini game next to Chocobo breeding/racing. X-2 is fun cuz the job system is really well done, on the fly job switching is cool, and it’s coin mini game is pretty fun.
I think that Squal is Dead theory is bunk, but then I subscribe to the Rinoa = Ultimicia theory, so who am I to talk? heh.
