And who’s fault is that? Other RPGs get by just fine requiring the entire team to be taken down for a lost. This isn’t FFX vs Yu Yevon here.
He might be giving sarcasm? Or he thinks they had the same battle system? Or he’s referring to XIII
Thing is I don’t see what’s there to be sarcastic about…
A lot of people didn’t like the 13 system. With a game that has such a huge fan base they won’t ever release a perfect system that suits everyone.
Simplistic boring auto battle system is what that post meant. I see no major battle difference but I admit that we didn’t see much but knowing S-E they don’t give a fuck about fan feedback and will probably just make an other shitty game.
The battle system has really only changed about 5 times. Its not like they advertised it as revamped when it wasn’t. Its the leveling/summoning that changes frequently and is as important imo.
Eh gonna just link to this post since it has all the info from E3+more-
Long story short, they added a little to the battle system and the game is 70% complete.
We can expect an early 2012 release for 13-2 for Japan and English regions.
ALSO JP version of FF13 will get an easy mode patch where enemies are easier to beat and drops are more common. Will post a link with solid info about it when I find it ^_^;
Thanks for the link, good read glad theyre taking into consideration gamer feedback

I love Masashi Hamauzu. :lovin:
rap music in ff <<<<<<<<<<<<<
having monsters in your party <<<<<<
just give me blue magic and classic music.
Meh, I’ll wait and see. But I do want to see more party members, that’s for sure.
If one thing square always does right, is their amazing soundtracks.
I may not have played as many RPGs, but I am proud to have played the masterpiece that is SaGa Frontier 2 with it’s beautiful music. I felt that that was the game where Hamauzu was at his best. :lovin:
Gustav was a fucking G btw. “I have no magic, so I’ll just create a steel sword to kick ass with instead.”
Towns? Non-linear? Douchebag Lightning isn’t the main character? Someone who isn’t horseshit is the main character instead?
Damn, this game might not suck after all.
fuck that, if you can’t play as lightning i aint fuckin touchin it
I agree.
there’s a video out on that page linked in this thread where you see like 8 min of gameplay and you can hear the music.

sounds like typical ffXIII, to me. it fits right in with that jazz bullshit they had in the first game.
the only thing that stands out from what i’ve read that i didn’t like was:
-no mention of an airship and/or vehicles
-no mention of getting rid of the rotating map
-i don’t like the idea of controlling monsters in my party. just give me party members and blue magic.
Uh what jazz are you talking about? I don’t think I’ve heard any jazz music in that vid. Battle music has some nice guitars in it but the boss theme…eh FF9’s was more 'dread’ier.
Looks like enemies drop Gil now? Although this vid had 0 Gil shown in ever battle I guess that’s because this was a demo of sorts?
The Anamoly resolution thing looks rather interesting and could make for some puzzles.
Dunno how I feel about those QTEs though.
Ugh the rotating map was annoying. I think you can turn off the map in FF13 couldn’t you?
I take it you never played Dragon Quest 5 huh? IMO having a Behemoth in your party is boss.
when i mentioned jazz i meant in the first ffXIII.
gil is back because shops are back, thank God. towns are back too with npc’s that speak about family and life in general and whatever else.
i’ve never played dragon quest 5. i think having a malboro could be interesting. i still hope this monster hunting/capture thing isn’t forced on us for the entire game.
of course it will be required to defeat some enemies, i’m sure.
Thing is I’ve listened to the FF13 OST and haven’t noticed a lot of jazz tracks ^_^;
I dunno how I feel about if monster hunting and recruiting would be forced until I try it out for myself, but I can see them making it optional: You get at least 6 beasts that represent one of the Roles, and through sidequests can recruit stronger ones, or make your current ones stronger.
Dragon Quest 5 monster recruiting
Spoiler
Recruiting in DQ5 is dependant on the monster you want to recruit. Most weak monsters are easy to recruit while stronger ones are somewhat harder. Although you CAN beat the game without using the recruited monsters, some of the stronger ones can really help in winning certain battles
