Shaolong Gui is the small one and Long Gui is the other.

That kind of stuff really doesn’t work for me, because much like Marvel, the rating should be for the team. Snow can get into situations where he is a perpetual Sentinel where he tanks for 1 damage per hit no matter what. Lightining can’t be considered less than the others because being the BEST ravager is more important than being the best Sab or Medic.
Team dynamic is the key.

What is the Army of One glitch?
same as the death glitch, soon as you start army of one swap to com with her. the attack increases the chain gauge the same as if she were on ravager but instead of hitting for like 2k a pop or some lame shit like that each hit is in the 20k range.
anyways legend2, i’m curios why your hating on the -ra versions of the buffs? my understanding was that ra’s are stronger versions of buffs than the normal ones…

I never said anything about Curaja.
Curaja is clearly the best healing spell in the game and both Vanille and Hope have it.
I was talking about Cura. Cura is useless in postgame against the big mission bosses and the blue turtles.
That’s why Sazh and Snow are better medics than Fang and Lightning. They have Curasa instead of Raise. Raise can be substituted in other ways but Curasa can’t be substituted. Extremely useful when doing a 3 Medic or Combat Clinic setup to heal quickly.
About the ra versions of the spells, this is why. They last less time than the single spells. They do give better protection and boosts but since the buffs don’t last so long compared to the single version of the spells, I am not as excited about using them. Also, a single Protect/Bravery spell costs only 2 ATB bar vs. 3 so more options for me when doing the buffs.
IMO, I believe that the less time I spent in the Synergist role buffing, the better for the 5 stars since I’m more focused on debuffing the enemy, dealing damage and working the gauge.
Granted, having a Protectra or a Bravera is still better than not having any option but if I have a choice of Protect vs. Protectra etc, I’ll take the single one everytime even if the other offers better protection.
I’ll take a slight drop in buff bonus over time of spell activation.
IIRC the -ra Sab abilities only affect a wider area but not their duration or chances of actually inflicting the status, but the fact that they’re 3 atm slots does make them less useful.

The only exception to the gas and ras are in the Ravager role with the Firagas, Blizzagas, etc.
A single fire works the gauge better with 6 fire spells than 2 Firagas. However the Firagas have the bonus of launching the enemies a little bit for a short air time bonus. This in essence makes the ra versions useless.
Either go with 6 singles for faster chain building or a ga spell for a launch. (Aeroga is good in this)
ah, i didn’t know that… that explains a fair amount of the difficulties i’m having with shaolong gui farming… and why using 1 synergist could be possible. i allways thought brave/protect took 2 atb bars, but i guess i got them mixed up with haste which does take 2… hmmm. but if i use light for the level 1’s i can’t death glitch… then again… my fang is allready hitting for 440k on each hit at 999% stagger…
also, good info on the ravager chain gauge building, allways love me a good brain to pick so to speak.
I’m assuming the Commando switch glitch can be applied with Pansy Boy’s Last Resort skill. I believe it hits eight times if there is one enemy, four if there are two, 3-3-2 if there are three, etc etc. It could be possible to hit the 999k cap per “ball of fury” that hit.
I just realized it a few hours ago while I was sleeping. Lol. Shaolong Guis gave me such an annoying time that I was thinking of ways to beat him while sleeping.
I don’t think Last Resort can even beat Snow’s “Power Dunk” but maybe it could beat Lightning’s Army of One with the switch.

Alright, here’s the deal with Last Resort.
Hope has 5/6 crystarium maxed.
~2500 magic
999% stagger Adamantoise w/ deprotect, deshell, imperil, slow (Never mind, just read that character specific skills are unaffected by debuffs)
Last Resort w/o commando switch = ~21k damage x 8 hits = 168k damage
Last Resort with commando switch = ~42k damage x 8 hits = 336k damage
It looked good on paper and theory, but in actual execution and damage, it isn’t so great.
It’s slow as molasses so even if it did really good damage, the time it takes to get the shit to land is bleh. On the good side though, you can ATB glitch the ravager paradig-em and when you switch to commando, you can have at least some form of beat down with a commando Fang.
However, the low damage might be due to the fact that his commando isn’t maxed out yet. So if anyone with a max crystarium Pansy Boy can try it out, please do.
if that’s the case then that part of your point does not stand, protectra and bravera are 2 atb slots. however the longer duration alone had me leaning towards the standard versions, i can’t tell you how many times i have had buffs wear at 999% stagger -_-;
