The key to beating Gilgamesh in 3 minutes is to aim for 4.5-4.6 million hp after the first stagger. Anything lower than that he goes into enhance power. So if you stop right at 4.5 after the first stagger you can kill him in a total of two staggers. My best time was 3:46 on Gilgamesh.
As for Snow you can kill him in 1 stagger using V-Lighting (com) easy. If you use Chichu you might can kill him in 1 stagger if you get lucky (when I used Chichu I got down like to two 2% on the first stagger.)
Valfodr is such a fun battle. It’s not brain dead, but yea it all really comes down to your paradigm. I had to switch it up so many times to get 4 minutes on level 70, and 7 minutes on level 99. The 3rd form level 40/50 is annoying too because of the healing. Basically every single version has a different stragety behind it.
Farming pack mentality now to see how much V-Lighting can hit…
just beat snow. now that i figured out how to beat him, it’ll be easy. just have a paradigm where both the main characters are sentinels, wait for him to power up, and then provoke him until he switches targets, then switch leaders (if you want), and rinse and repeat. took 2 staggers and 12 min to beat him.
Yup. If he KO’s anyone, you’re better off reviving who he’s KO’d, then switching to SEN/SEN/SEN. If he KO’s someone, then continues to fight, focusing on the next target in line, it counts as him not having switched his focus, which means he’ll still power up.
I made many monster builds that were not 100% optimal speed running damage builds and could not match those fast times. You have great builds and great paradigms to get your times. Congrats
Many of my monsters were made before the optimal monster faqs came out and my monsters were well-rounded, highly survivable (not in threat of dying) and I had to grind out victories. I might release some monster crystals and remake them for speed running. Since I have all the fragments and won all the DLC battles, I might as well.
Some guys have Pack Mentality on V-Lightning and Valfodr. The damage is off the charts.
I still feel that something is missing…like we all have these godlike parties and build but we really dont have anything to use them on outside of just fighting Val
I know I cant be alone in feeling this way…
Id love a new dungeon with all monsters HP is over 2 mill and can status inflict alot…
I tried putting pack mentality on V-Lighting and Valfodr and the damage was still unnoticeable. I made sure the paradigm role were all the same type too. I’ve have like 6 yellow lock pack mentality lol (i farm the shit out of it) just to test it.
Most of my monster were whack at the start too, I just released them and rebuild them.
Yo. I forgot we had a thread on this… 13-3 trailer is out, it isn’t as polished yet so the graphics still look bad.
But since we are still in 13-2 what is your main paradagim pack? I go for Com-Lightning, Cloudburst, and Goblin Chieftain. Rav Lightning seems like the better RAV but that FL of Cloudburst (with Chieftain) is what makes me keep him. It’s like there is no need for a syn role due to both of them.
Everyone stopped ageing. Funny how I missed that detail. When I first heard about the plot, I thought Lightning was the sole survivor from turning herself into a crystal for hundreds of years. But if no one was aging, well, what the hell. Guess she overslept.
If anybody deserves more game time, it’s Sazh. Square needs to polish the new Black man job class because it’s a promising job class for this generation. They should give that guy his own title “Sazh returns, black” and make it into a GTA/FF or something.
All the Trolling aside, I agree that Sazh(and by extention Fang and Vanille) should get more screen time, however I’m ok with LR:FFXIII being Lightning’s game.
