The Final Fantasy Thread 2.0 | FFXV: OUT NOW! It Really Did Exist

god i cant wait for FFXIII for the PS3 =3

Im gonna start a new ff12 file pretty soon. I want the zodiac spear. Has anyone gotten all the espers? I had 9 in my first play through.

Yeah, I got all the espers. Zodiark is the hardest boss in the game due to Darkja. You might want to do yourself a favor and have Scathe before trying this battle because I didn’t, and it was a bitch using Scathe Motes.

Ephidel: I don’t remember, man. I also don’t remember having trouble killing anything in that game (other than Yan), so yeah.

Put this on your party leader:

Foe: HP = 100% > Steal

and have your other members attack party leader’s target. Once you get Thief’s Cuffs, this is pretty much guaranteed.

I can’t wait for FFXIII for the 360.

Yeah same, I need to complete Tripple Traid in VIII. All I know is I have every missable card so far at the end of the game. All I need to do is go see (damn, what’s her name)… That card wife who travels the world collecting the rarest cards. On disc 4 she is on a small island with an escape pod I believe (a while since I’ve played it) who has all the other rare cards you would need. However this doesn’t make this an easy task as it also risks losing rare cards, aswell of gaining them. The rest of the standard cards I need will be easy to get…

I don’t like the Steal gambit everyone else is recommending because it only gets you one attempt. Most of the worthwhile steal items take multiple attempts from all of your guys, wearing Thief’s Cuffs.

I usually Steal untill it says " x has nothing to steal," that way I know that any other drop I get, is a bonus. This was the kind of Gambit set up I was looking for, so I could have one steal untill there was nothing left to steal.

Sep: Np, I still got my BG strategy guide so I’ll just read more on Tetra Master success 101. :j

Bear: If you even see this, I only have 2 of your fighter strats in A-1. What happened to the others? Did a clan take them out? :7

Sicne it was my first FF, I suppose I wasn;t used to the quality that is FF. And I think it’s worth finishing the game just to fight Braska’s Final Aeon.

Ugh. BradyGames.

I couldn’t find any other guide on FF9 at the time.

There aren’t any. BradyGames is the official strategy guide publisher used by Square Enix. Doesn’t mean I like them, though.

I paid 10 dollars for my ffxii guide. i liked it.

If it’s an enemy with something good in its rare steal slot, you won’t be attacking it until you have it anyway. The gambit I described is only for running around.

Just finishing up XII, just a few more espers and hunts to complete, and Im gonna do another run on IX. Too many games, too little time.

Also, anyone play XI? Ive been playing it a lot lately, its pretty fun. Being a completist though, it always feels like Im going nowhere in it :looney:

FFXII. I had a 43-hour beat-the-game playthrough (which I erased for some reason), and I played about 30 hours total nonrecorded (it’s very easy to mess up your party/licenses, so I had to restart a couple of times until I got it right). If I were to play it again, I’d probably do a class-system challenge of sorts, but I don’t know if it’s worth it. The random treasure chests annoys me, as do the drop/steal rates on most of the good bazaar items/legendary weapons and how expensive most stuff is in the main game (yes, I know, there are many places that allow you to get money faster, but it’s still slow compared to other FFs). Plus, the story’s mediocre, and the difficulty is unbalanced (if you have optimum equipment, than everything sans uberbosses will be a joke. If you don’t, than you will die a painful death). Hopefully, International will fix some of the issues (not that I will be able to play it, but still).

What’s the preferred method of getting the Ultima Blade? The bazaar items or the chest? The chest seems easier (30% rate of chest as opposed to <10% rate item drops), but there has to be a catch.

FFV is one of the harder FFs. Job system management can get out of hand at times (there are many good/great jobs, but you could only do so much), and the encounter rate is INSANE. Very good game, though (Job System MAKES the game stand out, as this version’s is much better than the FFIII version).

It’ll take you less than 2 hours to get the Ultima Blade from the bazaar. You can also get it earlier than from the chest.

@ Sep - takes forever to get the Tournesol. For the Hell-Gate’s Flames alone I spent about 4 or 5 hours.

Don’t bother with it, though. Tournesol, Excalibur, and Masamune are all better. And of course Wyrmhero Blade, but you’ll already have pretty much everything by the time you get that one.

And I used to play XI. I heard Samurai is a high-demand job now. Fuck me for being all avant garde and shit.

Lol its nice to Dream but i can gaurentee that wont be happening. Sqaure Enix and Sony FOREVER X3

I can’t understand why anybody would be a Sony fanboy.
