The Fatal Fury Special Thread

guard attack = b,f A when being attacked? also any way to escape jubies jumping lk hk whatever, down lpx2 or 3 into his B,F any kick mainly the lk version whilest blocking

Gg online middlekick sorry i’m a bit dry kairella is restictive when you first start playing i’m slowly getting use to it though funny how two people playing in the same city on a server in the uk can still get a bit of lag.

Mr geese

Yep thats pretty much have guard attack works.

Best way to get out of jubei’s jumping attacks and charge throw is anti-air his jumping attacks. You could also try backdashing out of the way of the jumping attack.

Ok thanks, my fault for not really wording the question correctly after the lpx1 or to or3 however many is the rush throw guranteed? after the blocked lps, i swear you could qcb lp with mai to avoid the throw, ff special is a great little game i wished more people played it online all i ever see is fucking zero3 and 98

The two main methods for ticking into the Nihon Seoi Dash, weak (blocked or connected) attack-> weak NSD, and heavy (blocked or connected) attack-> heavy NSD, can both be escaped if your character has a move with invincible frames: Rising Tackle, Tiger Kick, Ryu en bu and possibly, depending on the character, a GA. Moves which make your character airborne during early frames might also work: Cheng’s charge back, towards+B (edit: this move can be thrown at start-up so I doubt its suitabiliity for escaping), and his charge down, up + punch move. It may also be possible to use a command throw to reverse the tick. However if your character has no such moves, the universal escape method is a well timed back dash followed by a throw. Keep in mind that certain character’s BD’s are slightly longer – Mai, for example – and may not be suitable for escaping the NSD.

Just to keep this thing going, here are some more match vids:

Jubei’s stun combo recipe

The following combos are what you can use to stun the the listed characters, and if by some chance you land the combo near or in the corner, you can use the second part of the recipe to re-stun them. You’ll need some pretty quick hands to be able to pull most of these off.

close standing A x 2-> crouching C-> C Senbei Shuriken
(stun = 2 X 2 + 4 + 6 = 14)
Will stun Tung, Jubei, Mai, Billy and Terry

Anti-air version. Use as an alternative to anti-air crouching D (also possible in a walk-under situation?)

crouching B-> close standing A x 2-> crouching C-> C Senbei Shuriken
(stun = 2?2 x 2?4?6?14)
Another 2 points added, enables Jubei to fully stun Andy, Cheng, Duck, Joe and Kim. Some characters can beat the anti-air crouching B.

jumping C-> close standing A x 2-> crouching C-> C Senbei Shuriken
18 points stun. Stuns all except Bear and Krauser.

Re-stun
Here are the combos which you can used to re-stun a cornered opponent.

C Senbei Shuriken-> close standing B-> A Senbei Shuriken-> close standing A x 2-> crouching C-> C Senbei Shuriken. This is the ‘Rice Cake 3’.

Used for Terry, Cheng, Mai, Duck, Billy and Laurence.

Andy: C Senbei Shuriken-> close standing A x 2-> C Senbei Shuriken-> close standing A -> crouching C-> A Senbei Shuriken

Jubei: C Senbei-> close standing B-> A Senbei Shuriken-> close standing A x 2-> A Senbei Shuriken-> far standing C

Kim: C Senbei Shuriken-> close standing A x 2-> C Senbei Shuriken-> close standing A -> crouching C-> C Senbei Shuriken

Tung: C Senbei-> close standing B-> A Senbei Shuriken-> close standing A x 2-> A Senbei Shuriken-> crouching C

Axel: C Senbei Shuriken-> crouching A x 2-> C Senbei Shuriken-> crouching A-> close standing A-> C Senbei Shuriken

Joe: C Senbei Shuriken-> close standing B-> A Senbei Shuriken-> close standing A-> crouching C-> A Senbei Shuriken-> far standing C

Bear: Rice Cake 3. Won’t re-stun, but that’s the suggestion.

Krauser: C Senbei Shuriken-> close standing B-> A Senbei Shuriken-> close standing A-> crouching C-> C Senbei Shuriken. Will not re-stun.

Geese: none? Something do with the way he reels when being hit.

Found this in one of the multiple Garousp 2Channel threads. It showcases the numerous ways that Duck can land the DM without jumping: . There were a couple there that I didn’t know about.

Thanks for the heads up, 4649.

Some interesting and creative combos there.
I had no idea Terry could use a meaty Crack Shoot to start combos. And I just knew there was a way Axel could combo his DM. Granted, you’re not likely to see that in a real match, but it’s still nice to know that it’s possible. The Andy combo at 1:16 was great, too. Billy combo at 1:38; his DM seems link easily from the far C. Though I suspect it may be a Laurence-only deal.

Anyone have Garou Densetsu Battle Archives, and can tell me if there’s a stage select option for Garousp?

Go get your own copy of the game, son, it’s only $20, weekly special sale:

Just a heads up for the UK guys. There might be Fatal Fury Special casuals on at Fighters Day 2 this Sunday. Check out www.neoempire.com for details of the event.

I won’t let this thread die either guys!!!

How many of you that play this are coming up to the NEC???

I wanna surely play some of you guys in FFSP. :nunchuck:

Will someone give Crayfish and Middlekick some more rep??

I know they are on my list in late November when I get a Premium Account to Rep!!!

Can I get some help with Tung here? I just started playing, and he really interests me.

Edit: Just read Crayfish’s brief guide. Good stuff.

A movie demonstrating the various ways in which to employ the air throw. Some of these seem pretty important – such as the anti-line attack ones --, and I’m shocked to only find out about these in particular now.
