i played this game back when i had the super famicom version but didnt have the moves list but still enjoyed it a lot
now that i have the japanese collection on ps2 i’m playing sometime and i really like it … i use Mai and Cheng (and sometimes Krauser)… really a great game!
I wonder how much better this game could have been without the “everything you do, I’ll just leap into the background” aspect. Cpu and some players do it all the time, making it hard to even START combos, making every fight a battle to land single hits sf1-style until the other player loses. Are there any ways to determine who wins when both of you do plane attacks at the same time? I thought the last person to do it wins…wrong. Then I thought that the person who is higher when both collide wins…wrong. Now I think it’s random…and for the most part, that seems correct. Another thing I hate (besides Tung Fu Rue) is that when the cpu does their counterattack as you do a plane attack, it works 99% of the time, whereas more than half the time yours will lose or come out late enough to be blocked (if you don’t accidentally perform a plane attack yourself, in which case your attack will lose to the other guy’s)
My feelings exactly, tho if u watch the matches, the lineswitch thankfuly doesnt seem to break up the flow too much. Generaly seems better to use real tactics than the switch in most situs. The same can’t be said of the cpu ofc…
im on if you ready crayfish
I might be on as well. You wanna piece of this?
FFS! I personally think that lineswitching doesn’t give the player that uses it any real safety. Even if it does, it’s only for a second. For the most part, you will be ready to counter it with either A or B right when it happens, and usually if it’s blocked you can just continue with a block string and finish with a safe move and restore distance. I don’t particularly love the feature, but I don’t mind it.
I haven’t played in a while but I’m down.
Lineswitch battles seem to be like RBS.
You just have to know what lineswitch attacks you have that will be the ones your opponents has, and which ones you can just block or dodge and punish.
How good is the XBOX 360 version? Offline of course. I have an XBOX inside an arcade cab and we are getting the hell out of it. I was planning some HF, FFS and SS2 for a good add.
any online players on XBLA?
Had to resurrect this to ask a question I haven’t found elsewhere.
Just got a 360 for KOF XII and I remembered FFS is also on Live.
My question is that if Ryo Sakazaki is playable in online matches?
If so, just unlock him in Story mode and save data, and then use him online or what?
That link is olddd, but these 2 awesome matches are on youtube FYI
Fatal fury special those where the days.
Whos tryin to get some Live games in!?!?

Greetings, friends.
Garou Densetsu Special will achieve a new level of popularity.
Players from all over will now enjoy this game.
Of course, you don’t need me to tell you…
Okay, that hint was way too subtle.
Ladies and gentlemen, Fatal Fury Special in now available to play in GGPO!
IMO the only real contender for old school game of the old thats better than SSF2T or as good at least. pretty much everone is viable for tournament wins. i still own my neo copy, games too good.
