What i do not get is how anyone ever took the guy seriously every time i saw him on the screen i there was a collective groan from everyone wanting to know how Santino Marella got a power glove and why he was talking about video games.
In all honesty adding face paint and a mini car would been all he needed to complete his clown persona.
I’m dying over here…Especially imagining HAV and Koop having this convo in person. Koop, please come to Xanadu and reenact this for me. I’ll pay your venue and buy you some Bruce Lee II for this comedy gold LMFAO.
Really I would have gone with a Booker T reference I was always waiting for Triforce to do a spinarooni.
I was thinking Booker T at the end of the LOL Triforce video: SUCKKKKKAAAAAAAAAA! stares into palm of Power Glove
Stupid standards and practices, the damn thing never caught on man!
I think its funny how much the community cares about fighting game drama
The last thing you want to do on a first impression is wear a power glove to someone trying to make a deal regarding money. Even if they are gamers. Or at the very least, take the damn glove off during the meeting.
and another thing that just shows triforce wasn’t a great “leader” or just CEO if you want to go that far. This guy argues like a little kid. Can’t tell him what to do, doesn’t listen when people try to help him out, throws a temper tantrum when people argue with him. Fans or not. Just reminds me of that time he was literally picking out shit stream monsters were saying to him on a stream and he goes on and on arguing back with stream monsters. Yea. real classy and professional. Pretty obvious people don’t want to deal with your ass.
Of topic but still funnier than this.
Is that Ricky O as Heart?
fucking wow, that shit is strong.
“Only a sucker works a nine to five.”
cue epic Kinko’s training montage
http://empirearcadiapyramid.blogspot.com/ Wow just wow. I wonder how much of this is true? Yeah I am playing naive on this.
I’m actually shocked that things didn’t start falling apart faster when Justin jumped ship. (at least publicly)
From my personal experiences with the empire over the last 8 years or so, they never seemed that organized. I get the feeling that Triforce and the other head honchos just didn’t have any idea where to go business wise when things started to develop and they ended up with some of the best USA talent in their roster for a few years. This is especially true when SF4 hit and reinvigorated things for the fighting community.
I’ll agree that the power glove was probably a bad idea. Being the head manager of a business requires that you act/look you are going to be responsible with your time/money/organization.
Rocking the glove at casual tournaments and get togethers? Rock on. But when the time comes for regional/nationals/EVO, it’s time to suit up and play things on the straight and narrow. (Speaking of which, shoutouts to most of the commentators this last EVO being in a shirt and tie. Looked really professional, I hope it’s a trend that continues) You always want to put forth your best appearance when looking for possible business opportunities with other businesses or organizations.
Wow. Taking with a grain of salt but sounds accurate. Good find.

Somebody had it posted up on eventhubs. That shit is crazy.
Watch King of Chinatown, that Justin Wong documentary. Empire looks shady as hell, and one dude (whose face I saw on this forum) even says it seems too shady to join when Triforce asks him to. lol
When watching that documentary, I didn’t want anything to do with Empire. I’m actually impressed he gave the impression of something worth joining to members of this forum when they were young, but hey, I never heard of him before that documentary.
Cmon Koop I cant see how that glove is appropriate to be wearing in business meetings…
notice how in rap music videos, people went from dressing like:

notice the ppl in the back too
TO

.
Now does EVERY rapper dress like that today ^^^^ ?? No.
But does ANY rapper dress like the 1st one today ??? NO !!
Why the change? Change of style and times? Maybe they realized if they wanted to further their career and enter the business world, they would need to clean their act up.
If Jay-Z still wore du-rags and throwback jerseys, and wore them to business meetings when he was just starting to dive into his business ventures, do you really think people would take him that seriously?
Maybe ill understand better once I enter the business world, but if I have a group project at school and someone walks in with a Nintendo Power Glove because he “wants to” , he/she better be a GREAT worker or have great ideas for me to take that person seriously.
I will not hire a person wearing a power glove to a interview, I will not take a client wearing a power glove to a meeting seriously, I will refuse to spar with a person wearing a power glove on the mat, I will refuse to dine with a person wearing a power glove (not even at McDonald’s), etc… Or to put a end to all of it, I will not allow myself to be seen in public with anybody wearing a power glove as part of their attire.
That was first posted on SRK in GD, locked, deleted, re-posted in FGD, locked, and deleted again.
You have to have lived in Brooklyn to have seen what the whole deal was about. The guy had a dream but lost everything and let money corrupt him. I’m not going to put Triforce on blast, most people from NYC aren’t posting and there’s no need to resurrect this topic. Yes, Triforce tried to monopolize tournament control, created barriers to entry for new and better non-Empire players, but he also consolidated top players which enabled them to further increase their skills.
