Yeah, heavy languish seems to be decent for pressure, if for no reason other than being an easy confirm, starting off one of your best pressure moves (cr. MP), and being special cancellable.

No Karin makes me sad, but Lili is fine too.

Using a Lili/Rufus team. I find that both Lili and Rufus have the best rush-down i this game so far, and what Lili lacks in damage compared to Rufus, she makes up for in footies and a good mix-up game.

The only concern for me with Lili is with her lack of tools for ground Anti-Airs. As of right now, s.Forward seems like her best one, but I find that she lacks a good overhead AA. c.Fierce is bit too slow for that and her DPs are more for spacing and more useful in combos.

Any suggestions on AAs for her?

S MK crushes aerial attacks so I would guess that would be the one you should use the most. LP Attack Reversal counters jump ins on the first frame as well.

Lili’s actually got a really good suite of anti-airs compared to the rest of the cast.

st. MK crushes air attacks, df + HK crushes air attacks and leads into full juggle, and for overheads, you do what guile does and airthrow them.
You also have access to attack reversal.

So actually with the number of effective antiairs she has, plus the reward she gets off them, I think Lili’s antiair game is definitely one of the better ones in the cast.

Fuck, I keep forgetting she has an airthrow.

I’ve been doing quite well with all my links but I’m having so much trouble linking f.HK (I think that’s the overhead) into cr.MP, so I was wondering if I was alone/if there’s a certain way to go about this.

When the oponent is far than you and start zoning ( hadoken, hadoken… ) EX divine step its so fast and good. :smiley:

Im trying in training mode to dash cancel heavy languish from dendrobium but it isnt working? But somehow in this video he does it… Am i doing something wrong? I can cancel it our from a single normal, but not from a target combo like heavy languish

Is it possible to tigerknee Divine step?

You need to make sure you hit forward + HP when coming from the cr.MP in the target combo for it to be cancel-able to a special. doing a cr.MP > neutral st.HP looks exactly like Heavy Languish so this might be the problem you’re facing.

The funny thing about tiger-kneeing the special attacks… I can tiger-knee them just fine if they are the EX version (Divine Step/Air Spine Shot) but I can’t seem to tiger-knee the normal versions. I’m not sure if there is a height tolerance or something else that affects this. That, or I’m coincidentally just ass at tiger-kneeing the normal specials, xP

the ex versions have a different and easier imput window

also you can’t tk them at all lol

Just hold df for both then cancel into special. If you do it wrong, you would get cr. HP. If you do it right, the standing HP will come out.

im tiger kneeing all the divine steps just fine

So I decided to try tiger-kneeing specials again. Turns out, you can do them just fine O_O
Once you hit the up-diagonal input, you just wait for a split second before inputting the kick. Looks like I was just having timing issues.

Works for Divine Step/Air Spine Shot/ and EX versions, and I’m sure the same applies to all other characters too.

That LP into Cr. HP is killer for me. I have to practice that

Are they in the Floating state when you are trying to do it??

Hi, I am getting destroyed trying to learn this character. I’m trying to read all the posts here, but I just had a couple simple questions for what I think I’m struggling with the most:

  1. What do you do against cross-ups? Right now I’m just getting crossed up all day, since all I can do is block and it just takes a couple wrong guesses on ambiguous cross-ups to get blown up.
  2. How do you get out of pressure situations? Once I get pressured with blockstrings and knockdowns, I can’t do anything to get out.
  3. I keep getting outpoked/counterhit trying to start combos with one of her target combos (Left Right, Peacock, or Heavy Languish). How do you start applying pressure when up close, without getting outpoked?

Thanks! Really want to main Lili, and I’m doing combos fine in training mode, but in real matches I can’t do anything.
