Like an original IP. Something like what Enslaved: O2tW was or Alan Wake. I loved Alan Wake…
It’s hard to make something truly original these days in the gaming world. If you’re looking for something in that vein this year or even for the next E3’s then I think you’re setting your bar a bit too high and setting yourself up for disappointment. There will be bits and pieces of a game that will be original but usually in the end it’s taking most of other things from other games.

a new IP? looks over lists of stuff…Overstrike maybe? And that game that Bungie is working on with Activision. That’s all that is known right now.
Edit 2: I’m guessing Anarchy Reigns would probably also go into that category as well. Dishonored too. Lollipop Chainsaw as well.

also Dishonored looks very unique in both game play and art style, I think it will be the next big hit.

After OnLive/Gaikai showed proof of concept, it’s just a matter of time before a bigger gaming company backs them up. If true, I dunno how they’ll get around ISP caps.

Kojima all but confirmed it would be his next project after MGR p, I’m fairly confident he got the troll out of his system with that Sntacher radio show, so I’d be surprised if ZOE3 wasn’t announced officially by next E3 if not this one.
How do you guys feel about sleeping dogs? The game had been flying under my radar until yesterday when I watched a few gameplay vids and it looks amazing, like a cross between shenmue and gta, hopefully it lives up to its expectations because it definitely has some potential.
I saw the trailer and what it showed me was glorious. lol. He slapped fire out of the dude with a payphone. I’m all in.

Yea I been following Sleeping Dogs ever since SE picked it up after it’s previous publisher dropped it. I think it looks great, a good hong kong undercover cop/yakuza game with those kinds of movies sensibilities. I wanna flash point the shit outta people.

Is the demo coming out better than Samaritan? Well, the art style is way worse cause there is no art style. It is more impressive since the tech demo for UE4 is on the new GPU Nvidia Just released so you do not need a frankenstein of a pc with 4 gpus to run it.
Hopefully less devs use UE4 next gen. The cities in UE3 are so lifeless, see ME series and Arkham City. You could make great games with it, but interacting with NPCs in those worlds are like talking to mannequins.

It is. Killing goons that either stand around or follow scripted paths is not very immersive. Sure sometimes they’ll chat with one another but after exhausting all dialogue they either remain standing in groups or begin their patrols.
Even games like Ass creed are lifeless to me despite having a lot more NPCs. But when the NPCs just walk around and do nothing else.
RDR did a good job trying to create a living world. Best I’ve played this gen is Witcher 2, or PC Skyrim (w/ mods).
