I like the idea of the Wii 2 having a touch screen and physical buttons controller. As long as they don’t pull some bullshit on the lay out of said buttons this could be the shot in the arm that Nintendo needs and would take controls even further than just waving your arms like a fool.
The only downside I see to this new controller is how heavy it will be and how much of a drag it will be on you when you start using wiimote motion controls. Like if it’s a 6 inch screen that’s a lot for one hand to be holding while doing something. It honestly just starts to sound messy. We’ll see though. We will see.
But a phone is a bad comparison. As is an iPod Touch. Since all that a controller with a screen needs to do is communicate with the console I can see each new Wii 2 controller costing $60 a piece. Still, I should shaddup since we have nothing to go on but rumors.
There’s actually rumor going around that GTA5 will launch on Nintendo’s new console. No, really. Also says that Rockstar is one of the first devs to get their hands on the kits for the Wii 2/whatever it’s gonna be called.
They were talking about it over on GAF, on the Project Cafe page linked in the OP.
given that they are announcing it, it prolly won’t be available for purchase for at least another year or 2, and given the fact they announced the Wii first which was technically inferior to the other consoles it makes sense for them to want to at least go HD before the competition announces their next system.
