Anyone play DW:G2 yet?

Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 Gamespot Review

I thought the data transfer on the Wii version was supposed to be pretty easy, since you could keep on transferring back and forth between the 2 versions.

On the PS2 though, it was a one way transfer.
You would have to decide when you had played enough of 2 and was ready to move on to Heroes, because you cannot transfer data back to 2.

My LV.MAX Hondam is so dope.

While I had a ton of fun with the first game and I suspect the second will also entertain, this review is pretty spot-on. There’s a ton Koei could do to keep the formula and add to it (for all their Musou games), and really all of the Musou games are just blatant cash cows.

NINJA EDIT - Except for this: “Bad voice actors deliver bad dialogue.” The bad dialog part is right on, but the voice actors are not bad. You can only do so much with bad dialog and budget voice direction. But that’s okay, as the dialog often sounds like it’s parodying itself. “Kamille’s a MAN’s name! And I’M A MAN!”

NINJA EDIT 2 - Another review, this one a touch more calm and sounds like it’s coming from a guy who wants to like the game, but can’t.

If nothing else, this is the reason to get this game.

I’ve hardly got into the game at all, but it’s without a doubt a BIG improvement on the first.

I played a round online with three other dudes. I had no idea what was going on, but honestly, for a last minute throw in, it’s actually pretty nice. Then again, I was expecting something of the caliber of Samurai Warriors 2 online mode.

Oh, and the Seed suits are absolutely nuts in this game, and I hated Seed.

And even though they dumbed down the Gundam Wing Zero a little, it’s STILL nicely powered.

But GOD DAMN is the Big Zam big hard!

I ran into it the first time, and GOD DAMN, it was hard to time a smash attack on the Big Zam after it finishes an attack… killed me.

Then me and specs powered through Amuro’s classic storyline, albeit dying about three more times on the Big Zam mission, and it’s fun to see Amuro beat down enemies with any of the Mission mode characters. He’s a real Heero whore. I can’t blame him though.

The second one really is a big improvement. It does deserve the bad ratings it’s getting, but compared to the first game it’s really improved. They even have a left-right reversal option for the camera, PER PLAYER.

Wing Zero is still powerful, and I must tell you; I just beat the shit out of that Lacus chick with Heero, and being a huge hater of Gundam SEED and a fan of Wing (the first Gundam series I ever saw, and yes I know it sucks), that was EXTREMELY satisfying.

I like inserting Heero into UC storylines.

Big Zam kicked the crap out of us.

I gotta try out Master Asia next time…that Gundam looks like fun to play.

“You don’t know me? I am Master Asia…the UNDEFEATED of the East!!”

And is Domon channeling DW5 Gan Ning?

The Mobile Armor fights are garbage, and easily the worst part of the game. Except for the Dark Gundam (aka Devil Gundam). That’s a pretty cool fight.

Dark/Devil Gundam

[details=Spoiler]Domon’s story ended with him facing the Dark Gundam. Very tough, and for a while I wondered how I was going to win. Fortunately the field with Dark Gundam had many enemies, and Dark Gundam doesn’t move, so I was able to kill enemies for health. I was playing alone. Slowly, but surely, I prevailed.

In Domon’s story, Master Asia and (briefly) Milliardo were antagonists (throwing the events from DWG1 out the window, sadly). I play Seabook next, glad to have Dark Gundam behind me. After a brutal first mission, Seabook befriends Judau, Roux, Beecha, and Elle. They pursue Master Asia and Milliardo, the two needing Cecily for some reason. It hadn’t occured to me that both were Domon’s antagonists.

Second last mission for Seabook, we save Cecily. Then, OUT OF NOWHERE, Domon is radioing for help to fight… DARK GUNDAM. :wow: :wow: :wow: SEABOOK. Fights Dark Gundam.

OH, BUT THAT’S NOT ALL: Master Asia is in Dark Gundam’s field, and DOESN’T DIE as long as Dark Gundam is alive. That’s right; you have to fight Dark Gundam with Master Asia in the field trying to kill you. And then, after beating Dark Gundam, you STILL have to beat an angry Master Asia.

If SMS Team was not helping me in that last mission, I have no idea how I would’ve succeeded. Great fun.[/details]

I shouldn’t have read that…real talk.
I didn’t think that would’ve shown up.

Not only that, but  @ Seabook’s story being a more accurate portrayal of G Gundam than Domon’s story.

I enjoyed DW G2 so far except for those fucking huge mobile suit battles. why the fuck can’t you command your allies to back up when they’re doing those fucking explosion moves.
The only way to guarantee victory is to interm save after you do good damage and hope your partner doesnt die…so stupid.

Guess who Uso fights in his fourth mission? Yeah that’s right, Dark Gundam. And if any of his allies, who LOVE running right up to Dark Gundam, die, it’s Game Over. And I didn’t have a second player. Guess who lost the mission? Yeah that’s right me.

Seriously this game is fucking broken on the large mobile fights…its a pretty cool and fast paced combo system till those…then ur allies decide to go walking into fucking nuclear blasts and throws

Hey…what system did you get DW:G2 for?

XBox 360.

Damn…was gonna see if can join you for some co-op. I’ll most likely get it for the PS3.
No matter.

I saw some vids of Dark Gundam in the game…wow. Now I remember who that Gundam is.

That suit seems to make Lu Bu Gundam look like a cakewalk…and I’m still having trouble with Musha. Stop attacking Char damnit!!! STOP TRYING TO COCKBLOCK MY FIGHTS CHAR!!!

"I’m doing this for the real creators of life…women."
Is Uso a mama’s boy?

hey doods

should i get dw6e for ps3 or xbox??

I think it’s just a matter of preference…there shouldn’t be any significant difference between the 360 and PS3 port.

Update on DW6:
unlocked everyone…and maxed out Xahiou Dun, Zhao Yun, Liu Bei, Lu Xun (by accident), and Diao Chan.

The Hei Fe Castle trick for getting weapons in Chaos mode really works when your character is about maxed out, has inf. Renbu, hasa a weapon w/ Ice, Flash, T. Musou. Zhao Yun and Liu Bei own Sun Quan for free. True Spped is actually good to use against mobs of officers. Diao Chan looks like an angel while in this mode.

Lu Bu’s musou mode is now my favorite mode…all his missions tell you to do is own EVERYONE!
All mission I got at least 1K KO’s, and got ALL targets in his mode except for one…which was dumb because my soldiers took Liu Bei’s camp BEFORE I can finish off Guan Yu. Sometimes beasting too much can fuck up.
