What about Cheng Pu on the Wu side? I remember people hyping that guy up since the days of DW3.

Nah, I have Da Ji’s Proficiency at S Rank. I was just told that her ability made leveling up much faster than normal, but I don’t see it.
Oh and before you ask, yes she is in my three-cell party.
EDIT: Da Ji’s ability seems to be more effective at higher difficulties. I just raised Zhou Tai 9 levels playing Battle of Honnouji on Chaos difficulty.
I don’t know if I have the patience to grind again in this one. Getting everyones proficiency to S rank is gonna take forever.
On another note, so far my favorite character is Toshie Maeda. Guy is downright nasty. I believe I have Typhoon, Multi, Echo, Brilliance, Agility, Reach, Ice, and some other stuff on his weapon. He literally just mows through people. Also, he’s the best character I’ve used on the horse so far. His attack targets both sides and covers a wide area. His Musou is pretty crappy however.
Feel the same way about Toshiie in SW2XL.

leveling proficiency in this game is easy compared to WO2. You can easily get it at S rank within a few battles (slap the item on for even quicker leveling.)
as for people good on horses, Toshiie, Keji, Guo hai, Zhao Yun, Ma Chao, Zhang Liao. Just to name a few. Pretty sure Gracia is still crazy good but I just got her and haven’t tried her out yet.
one thing I will always miss in a warriors game? Musashi’s damn good SW2 moveset.

One thing I’ll always miss in a Warriors game? Dynasty Warriors 3.
That game had it all. Excellent music, stage design, character design, choice of battles covered, movesets, and gameplay. 700+ hours of my life went into DW3 and every moment of it was awesome 
Hell yeah. SW2 Musashi was a gigantic running lawnmower of destruction. He just isn’t the same in this game.
I miss having both sides of a stage playable. Made the game have mad replay value. Let’s also not forget how great enemy peon AI was. DW3 the only game that had non crossbow/arrow enemies actually run up to you and start an S string with no problem and actually kill you. (DW5 gets honorable mention.) But yea. if you did try to go all gung ho solo in a pool of red, chances are you weren’t making it out easily unless you were Lu Bu.
I wouldn’t mind a DW3 remake or the next DW game actually being like DW3. 7 IMO was a big letdown outside of story (which also was kinda a let down.) and they’re slowly undoing all the new clone characters they made from DW6. (which was obviously a backpedal coming out of 5’s overall decloning.)
Though as I listen to Samurai Warriors tracks, I can’t help but keep seeing Koei wants to rid everyone’s mind of SW1. Not one has made a return in either warriors game. (not including the revamped tracks.) I may be alone on this but I loved some of the SW1 tracks that ended up being revamped from SW2 and 3 (Anegawa, Nagashiro, Osaka castle). It’s obviously had some fatass flaws (Date’s OG design, character skill system, semi fiction/non fiction play of the sengoku era.) but I really enjoy SW1 along with again, missing some movesets that got overall rehashed. (Kenshin, Mitsuhide, No.)
Fucking shame we’re not getting SW3 XL. I really want to play it on a not wii console.
The first thing i’ve been doing since I played SW2 Musashi in any game he’s in is try out C1. SW2 version was so fucking fast, broke guard, and destroyed everything when you did it with his 4th weapon. Now it’s just slow, enemies knock him out of it, and it’s just bleh. I’m not even sure if the 3rd followup to C1 hits behind him anymore. I also thing his sword range on a horse got greatly nerfed in WO3. (I know his C3 on a horse did. Used to hit everything. Now it’s just shitty.)
Haven’t played DW since 3. 3 was amazing.
