Fucking fangasm…

Zhang He and KOJIRO SASAKI working together! Kyaaaaaa~ :lovin:

So I finally got my copy of DW7XL today. I was worried when my closest Gamestop fucked up with the shipping and they delayed the release of the game in their stores for 2 more days (gg Gamestop). Luckily for me, I have another Gamestop that’s just 0.2 miles away from the one I usually go to and Thank God they have the game!

And wow, 4.3 GB to install, good thing it installs it in the background while you’re playing.

No stores near me have the game…but Amazon shipped my copy.
So I’ll try to Plat DW7 until it arrives.

Playing Zhang Liao’s Battle of Chang Ban section with March of Destruction playing is the single most badass thing in the whole series. I AM MY LORDS BLADE!

I played that First of the Star game recently, it was absolutely awful. Are the Dynasty Warrior games any better or more polished?

Hokuto Musou is a game that takes a while to fully appreciate since you have to unlock the characters’ full movesets via Meridian but there’s a deep, free form system in the game that lets you cancel into almost any action, you just have to be willing to put in the time to see how creative the game can allow you to be, assuming you can look past the game’s slower pacing compared to the other Musou games.

And me, Cryoh and a few others enjoyed it FYI.

I enjoy the series

Fist of the North Star is different from Dynasty Warriors. It’s slower paced, relies on hand to hand rather than weapons (as it is in the anime/manga), and the style is slightly more exagerrated and over the top than Dynasty Warriors. It’s a fun game, but takes a bit of getting use to if you’re coming from Dynasty Warriors expecting the same stuff lol.

By the way, the stages in the story mode are linear and very small scale, the free mode stages make the game feel a bit more Dynasty Warriors-ish, where there will be more enemies/allies on screen and where you’ll be able to roam more freely.

FotNS: Ken’s Rage is the only DW-like game where I can remember the generic mooks being a viable threat.

Well, a threat until I unlocked about 1/2 of the Meridian tree for that character.

Hokuto Musou is fucking LEGIT.

Dynasty Musou walked into a bar looking to hook up wit a fine lady and saw this sweet piece of ass named Bare Knuckle 2. BR2 was fucking gorgeous so DM just couldnt resist and spit his best game ever. BR2 was interested and that very night he waxed that ass in the bar’s bathroom.

9 months later Hokuto Musou was born.

His first words were

“You are already dead”

So anybody here enjoying DW7XL?

Regarding Wang Yi and Ma Chao

Spoiler

Damn, Ma Chao killed Wang Yi’s husband and son? Jesus Christ. Makes me want Koei to release DLC story missions regarding Xiliang.

Yeah…I think the story is that Ma Chao and his clan ran train across her village during Xi Liang, slaughtering her family.
Historically…she actually fought in a battle pre-Three Kingdoms period.
I wish they would have had Wang Yi call Ma Chao a hypocrite for his rants of “justice” and "righteousness"
If you don’t care for spoilers…someone posted her conquest quotes.

Interesting what she says about Ma Dai…

I don’t understand, in Guo Jia’s Legendary Battle, Ma Chao and Ma Dai were working with Cao Cao, were they allied with him at one point? And then at some point, I’m assuming Ma Chao’s father got killed for some reason and he swore vengence against him and then fast forward to some point and Ma Chao supposedly killed, or got Wang Yi’s family killed?

Anybody knowledgeable in Chinese history care to shed some light here?

I think Guo Jia’s Legend stage happens BEFORE Cao Cao kills Ma Chao’s father, Ma Teng.

Probably after that Ma Teng gets killed…Ma clan gets pissed and riots the fuck out her husband’s village, killing Wang Yi’s family in the process…then Wang Yi swears vengeance on Ma Chao.

In any case you can ask ckrazy…only one I know here that is knowledgeable about Three Kingdoms.

Shoutouts to Titles being obtainable in Legend Mode and nothing else.
Shoutouts to Ultimate Weapons not having a unique look
Shoutouts to classic stages being mostly DW5 and not enough DW3 or DW4

Other than that I’m having fun with it though it does feel limited in some aspects, but I guess that’s what’s DLC is for. Shame about no CAW but hopefully there’ll be a DW7E?

I do like the remix shit it gives me that old school feel lol, but i think a CAW now would be awesome. This is the best dynasty imo dw7 is the old school mixed with new school and I cant get enough of it.

I was gonna play story mode again with wei but did they add any extra story parts for the new wei peeps? Legend mode is pretty dope building up the castle lol.

Damn, that WO2 trailer is gdlk. Shuten Douji looks so beast.

I got a new computer recently, so I’ve gotten back into DW: Online. I dunno if anybody in here still plays, but if so…I do too.

DWG3 is still crack. I’ve finally unlocked both Musha Gundams.

One of the few things that annoyed me about DWG3 is that they removed the space battles. In DWG2, when you were in a “true” space stage, your MS would float and you move about in space (although still restricted to the horizontal plane). I dislike how in DWG3, they did away with those space missions completely and now if you’re in space, it’d just be on a colony or an asteroid :frowning:
