So basically Capcom patented the “Mixjoy”/expansion pack feature…more than a decade later they call foul on Tecmo Koei for using it and profiting off it.
Capcom is asking for about $9.43 million in this lawsuit…and the stoppage of certain TK titles.
Wait…why did Capcom wait this long for this?
How can you even patent this, and why are they only going after TK and not everyone else who used it before and after them?
What I don’t understand is…
when has Capcom ever used it outside of Super > AE? Like Geese said, why are you waiting almost 10 years later to star playing the card now? Did they not see Koei and other companies benefiting from this?
Especially when Capcom themselves ripped off of Koei-Tecmo’s game (being Samurai Warriors, etc.) with Sengoku Basara.
What a joke. It shows that they’re desperate for money than anything else, really.
