The Dynasty/Samurai/Gundam/Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star) Warriors thread

This is my only gripe with DW7. Being able to use everyone’s weapon on everyone just feels…weird. Like, I really don’t give a fuck about using someone just for their EX attack if said attack sucks.

Oh shit, you can finally play as bosses? Can’t wait.

Finally got to mess with Bleach: SR…it is indeed fun.
Took me a while to understand the jist of the game…I wish story mode wasn’t so short.

Ishida and Yoruichi are fun to play with…but I see why leveling up is going to be a bitch.
What’s a good stage to build up soul points?

For low level characters, mission 4, then mission 7.
For high level characters, mission 19.

If your character can combo well, then Beat Attack Beginner or Intermediate. Advanced isn’t worth the time.

*Sees Shin Hokuto Musou trailer

I have an erection. And it is fucking amazing.

Edit: Kinda think haki users in One Piece musou 2 should have a system similar to the touki system in Hokuto musou. Spend a bar then choose which Haki you want to engage. Armament Haki could just boost your defense and attack. Also lets you hit logia users in elemental form. Observation Haki could let you auto dodge/be invincible for a set period of time like Muso Tensei in Hokuto Musou. Conquerors Haki same as now. Knock out everyone in a wide radius.

Just a thought.

So, I popped back in Bleach: SR, and I need to amend my soul grinding strats.

Low level characters that have shitty AOE attacks should grind up their souls from Mission 5, then either Mission 7 or Beat Attack Beginner. If your character has good AOE or tracking attacks, then do Beat Attack Intermediate from 1-whenever the fuck you want to stop.

Ishida is still ridiculous in Ignition Mode once he is probably leveled, since you can just spam Heizen non-stop. Ranged characters in DW-esque games are always either completely nuts, or completely ass.

I didn’t realize how tedious leveling up was to be until I started leveling up Ishida past level 9.

What I originally thought of the leveling map was that everyone shared a part of the map…but now I see that every character has its own big ass map, but they start from different section.

On top of that if I want to max out said map…I have to level up other characters to unlock their “section”. I have yet to unlock the two other Ichigo forms…

What factors are in getting S rank in missions?
Mission 13 I just dashed my way to the bosses and one-shot killed them…ended up with a C.

Ishida is so stupid broken in this game…now that I activated the counter.
He’ll probably be the only person I attempt to max out.

I wish Omega Force would make a Bleach game…

Slash count
Time
Beat

Pretty much every character with good projectiles is broken in this game.
Only Ichigo requires a high level to open a segment. So it’s not too bad. The second highest is Gin which is like 18.

Trying to plat DW7XL is taking forever. :frowning:

It says there will be a new musou mode centered around the Marines, Yonko, & Shichibukai. I doubt that means all of them will be playable, but I damn well hope I can at least use Blackbeard.

Anyone know if there’s any combo compilations like this or other vids for Ken’s Rage?

Because I was with some friends the other day, some of them DIEHARD DW fans, and we played Ken’s Rage 2 demo. Now, alot of them already hated KR1, saying that it was slow, didn’t have combos, only strings, and didn’t even have a combo count for hits in the strings. Basically that it lacked any free-flowing freedom or comboability standard of any other musou. So when we played KR2, admittedly, it was a bit underwhelming even to me and I’m anxious for the game. The lack of a jump button in KR2 further fueled the flames.

I’m not a big musou fan at all. But I know about them and how they work. I was trying to defend KR series even though I played KR1 a total of only a few hours. Way less than Basara series or DW7 Shu playthrough. Everyone in room is a HnK fan, but so much shit was talked about KR that I nearly became swayed. And they believe WO3 is the greatest thing on earth.

So I mean, what are some redeeming qualities of KR over other musous? I did homework before and it’s mixed. With many believing that it has foundation of a better system and “game”, but doesn’t necessarily translate to fun. KR2 is supposed to fix KR1 problems, but it kind of looked worse than KR1. But it was a demo so they gave me that pass. And as much as I say I’d rather have a better, deeper game, I do enjoy creativity and an engine that isn’t as…streamlined or limited maybe? Even though KR has more “moves”.

So idk. I’m in a weird spot. We have arguments and debates like this all the time about any and everything. Rarely do I ever cave or admit defeat, but some of the DW7 and WO3 stuff they were showing me was too crunk. And those fools already got me to actually buy DW7. And as much as I hated myself, I played it about 2 weeks. But bottom line, I really want to like KR2 and I actually want to start back playing KR1.

Ken’s rage 1 had combos.
to really get into them though you had to unlock the cancels and what not.

Also, its a shame that KR2 took out jump, but I think it doesn’t take anything away.
Just another option to choose between finishing the combo, doing a stationary evade and counter or just evading to the Front,Left,Right,Back.

Hokuto Musou has the deepest engine of any Musou game ever.

There is a guard system, guard break system, jump cancels, grab cancels, special cancels, grab infinites, supers that buff your health, buff your attack, buff your defense, grant temporary invincibility, Kenshiro has a dodge move so he can dodge cancel, Rei can wavedash and air dash, do I need to keep going?

Your friends…im sorry…dont know shit about depth. They want a Musou game. Hokuto Musou isnt really a musou game. Its more like…Streets of Rage and Dynasty Warriors had a secret love affair and this game is the result.

Tell them to stick to Sengoku Basara 3. Guys like your friends are the reason why the Hokuto no Ken cast no longer yell out their technique names after they do them in Shin Hokuto Musou.

Also here is the Souther corner loop. dunno if this was posted already.

He has other things he can do off this but this loop in the corner is the most braindead thing.

EDIT: ahh damn, Geese beat me to it. Apparently there’s still suppose to be more reveals.

Yeah…possibly Wei returns.

Thanks for the replies guys. I showed thread to one of them (the super DW fan). We’ve already seen both of those vids and he said he can respect you all saying what Hokuto Musou “is”, but it’s still face-slidingly boring. I mean, I too tried to explain, and look at it in the vein of a beat’em up with musou elements, rather than a traditional musou game. He’s still going to get it, but he thinks it’s going to be shit lol. Also, only me and one other were the Basara advocates. Everyone else was strictly Warriors series. And…imo Basara 3 was kind of underwhelming. Definitely not as good as 2 or 2 Heroes in my opinion. So it didn’t leave a good impression besides the creativity.

Anyway, I have another question. Which may be dumb since no one here has played KR2 yet except demo. But if the “high level” Hokuto Musou play involves jump cancels, then what would that do to the “combo flow” of the game? I mean, there was already an evade button in KR1. What does this new one do exactly? The more I think about it, I feel that it was an odd decision. Most of the complaints of game was from lack of speed and sluggishness. Not being able to jump just seems like it would make game more…slow? Unless demo was confirmed shitty build, I didn’t feel impressed at all besides the flashes of game running in 60fps for brief stints. Am I the only one who wasn’t sold?
