the :d::mp: linkers doesn’t need to be always crouch, it can be a far standing :mp: that will connect and can be canceled, the links cant be also used after a jump-in attack, and meaty close ups!

I’ve always liked Dudley but i never seem to experience success with the guy. Any tips on how to use him correctly. Also, what are his best target combos (because i know some are rather useless)

Ok, now let us think/discuss…
In v2013 throws are much stronger taking away grey health. Dud’s amazing walkspeed helps with that. Walking back throw or the close mixup are actually much scarier, am I right?
Also the buff of crMK is gonna help.

I think his KD game will be much better. Remember if you bait a forward roll it’s a free throw. That’s where his walk speed will pay off even more.

Yeah, I agree. With the roll change he gets a real 50/50 with every roll (even no invincible DPs anymore :slight_smile: ). And then we have to wait and see about shenanigans with the super charge now. Even more mindgames. If u cancel it into back dash to bait DP , you can punish. If you hit your opponent with a charged EX SSB in the corner, I can do 600+ with one bar with my team.
I think the hard KD from crMK will help with that too, so the buff on it will help. I think the active frame change will also help it to be a really decent counter poke to Ryu, etc crMK.

Dudley will become much more of a real close range mixup char. With and without his opponent rolling. I actually think he got overall buffed now.

I still think his footsies are really lacking in this game. St. Rh. buffered into MGB is not as strong due to the smaller hitbox on St. Rh. He has no way to deal with good footsie characters i.e. Cody, Cammy, Guile. I guess your first character can do the job of getting you in, but then if you guess wrong or they guess right you’re back to square one, except your point character is no longer out to get you back in.

Edit: Anyone have any thoughts on the team of Sagat/Dudley. I feel like Sagat does a good job of building meter and he has plenty of ways to bring in Dudley.

Sagat is a decent partner for most chars. No safe DP tags anymore though :wink:

Has anyone experimented with using his f. hk>mk Target combo as a confirm versus just confirming off of a raw overhead? I have been using the overhead target combo, and if confirmed I link it into a St or Cr MP. I lose ~25 damage compared to overhead>St Rh/MP, but I find it to be safer because if you miss the confirm and they are mashing a reversal while you do a RH after a blocked overhead, then you are going to eat big damage.

This character is awesome. I do not understand why more people arent playing him

What are my pressure tools, pokes, blocks strings, and anything else I should be doing in neutral?

Pressure with Dudley’s insane walk speed and c.mp. Cancel your blockstrings into light mgb. Utilize his target combos. They are actually good in this game.

Jump RH is your friend. Just don’t be predictable with it.

EX mgb is the best full screen punish in the game. If someone wants to run away and tag out, they’re dead.

EX thunderbolt is actually good in this game too.

F.mk into lk>mp TC into lp>mp target combo is a decent frame trap. Confirm any of them into c.mp and go nuts.

(the reason i use JU the on time and MGB the other is that it’s easier for me in terms of execution)

What target combos should i be using? Mainly i just use lp->mp->mk for the easy cancel into every move he has. A lot of fun but am I missing out on ones I should incorporate?
