its funny that everyone is o this Sent OP stuff, but my Dormammu has had no problems killing the robot.

I guess I have yet to run into a decent sent yet.

Flashy, who’s your team made of until the tentacled one joins the roster? I’ve already decided that Shuma and Dorm will be part of my team, but since Shuma isn’t going to be out for a bit, I’m thinking maybe Dr.Doom, Dormammu, and MODOK.

Yes you can, but why not just cancel the Purification into Chaotic Flame, get the full damage, and have your opponent pushed to the other side of the screen? Stalking Flare does not last long at all once it actually hits your opponent, and there’s massive recovery on it. If you and your opponent are on opposite sides of the screen, you will just barely have enough time to do something by the time Stalking Flare is about to hit your opponent.

I think people are just obsessed with Sentinel because he is super easy to spam with right now. He’s like the Iceman of Marvel 3. Sentinel is on my team for sure, but it’s really just for the assist.

Dorm right now is a hard counter to sentinel. Sent wrecks most characterso problem. I’m afraid chris is screwed against him.

For someone extremely unfamiliar with this game and VS games in general. Why is Dormammu a hard counter to Sentinal?

Dromammu (Dark hole) Magneto (force field) Doom/Iron man (Missiles/Repulser blast) something I tossed together until the Old One descends, can’t wait for that Shuma man, I got mad teams for em, until then this game is meh.

…back on the topic of Dorm, has anybody tried (for example) Doom’s rock assist and then have Dorm teleport behind the opponent for some mix-up shenanigans??? Seems like this might be a good way to get in close to the opponent with minimal risk.

…also, how accessible are Dorm’s charge-up moves while in-game against a real human opponent? I don’t know the name of the move(s), but it’s when Dorm’s hands turn either blue or red depending on the input. Seems like in a fast paced game like this, the opportunity to do the charge-up moves will be pretty limited.

So… trying to be a dutiful forum member, I posted this in the videos thread. But I don’t think anyone actually checks that, so I’m cross-posting here. Check the first half of the video for some epic Dormammu play in general, and some great anti-Sentinel stuff in particular.

I tried him with dooms rocks and yes, that works as you’d imagine it. Flame pit to lock them down, call down, and then teleport either behind them or directly above them for mixups. Works really well actually.

Charge moves aren’t so bad to get for. If you hit with purification, you have enough time to get a few charges, or go for chip with more purifications, OR go for stalking flare. Your choice. I liked purification > stalking flare > teleport, get yourself a nice midair crossup. Flare comes out really slow though, as said before, but purification buys you enough time for the startup.

Level 3 power of destructor (the big explosion) is nice. Hits full screen and is practically instant, gives a nice untechable knockdown / launch thing for you to combo off of. I didn’t mess with the firestorm looking ones that much but they control a lot of space and free you up to move around for a bit while they block.

Just have one question. Everyone says Dorm has low health… but on the official SRK MvC page, lists him as 100,000. That’s clearly not low. In fact 21 characters have lower health. They say 100k is average but it would seem to be above average, imo.

Anyone clarify that for me? Get the game tonight! Very excited.

Dormammu’s health is slightly above average. Tbqh, what happened was that the few of us who had played the game were reporting average/above-average health while a couple of videos made it seem deceptively low.

Nice stuff with the multiple pillars (or whatever they’re called in this) and fireball hyper around the 12:00 minute mark. Good to finally see active use of Dorm’s teleports on video.

Having difficulties with Mission 8. I can get through the first part just fine, but when I super jump I can only get Air M off. Any suggestions?

I haven’t been able to confirm this (I don’t have the game yet) but the mvc3 guide claims that dormammu has normals that absorb projectiles? If this is true, it completely slipped past me.

According to the guide, s :m: , s :h: , and s :s: nullify projectiles.

Tibian. You just delay a bit after the launcher before jumping.

Mission 10 is annoying me though. It asks after an air combo to use assist 1 (which is Spiderman with Web Ball) and then go into the flame carpet.
