The DHC Trick - Damage & Hit-Stun Scaling Reset

I dont think it would work the other way around as the first hit after a DHC, regardless of how much damage it is, can theoretically be the last hit before hitstun ends the combo.

Imagine HSF only hit once (first row top drone) and the other guy flips out, not sure if it’s a good idea in using 2 meters like that

Aerial Exchange has a 66% chance of working. I have tested this. Clearly that is better than the chance of a 50/50 reset.

Additionally, Wesker can follow up DHC glitches with pretty lengthy combos.

Some people have been saying this shit with such conviction and yet:

Are you just ignoring this? Are you also ignoring the fact that some fighting games got updates where something unintended was *fixed *(e.g. Alpha 2, Alpha 3, CVS2) and yet those updated versions ended up getting rejected by the competitive community? Some unintended artifacts do end up becoming regular features of a game’s series and not all changes or fixes were necessarily accepted. Up until recently, the determining factor of whether a glitch gets accepted as a feature or not has generally been whether the glitch actually renders the game unplayable or if we’ve been given enough time to play around with it and determine whether keeping it or removing/banning it would be for the better (because like I said, removing a glitch didn’t necessarily mean that version would get played). Neither of those criteria have been filled for the DHC trick and I think it should be kept in, at least for a long enough time to see where it goes.

I’m not going to assume everyone on here is participating in the competitive/tournament scene, but it’s getting real hard to take this game seriously at this rate. Some of the players I see on the regular share the same sentiment. Not letting the game grow before making changes is not a good look.

From our end, it’s hard to tell what exactly it is about these DHCs that causes the glitch to actually happen. It’s entirely possible that the easiest way to remove it is to just fix the glitch.

But yeah, I agree with Dime. It’s significantly more cost-efficient than any other use of meter, which is a bad thing to just have without any of your designers having thought about it.

if every glitch was removed from fighting games we would not have combos, canceling normals into specials, kara cancel, option selects, negative edge, crossups, chain cancels from cps1, tick throws, reversals which was there to prevent a glitch from being dominant.

Most of the basic fighting game concepts @ one point were glitches or new elements added to prevent glitches from being dominant. That’s how these games are where they are @ today. I can’t tell you how bad mother fuckers would rage in the arcade on the sf2 cab when they would get tick thrown lol. Look @ it now, that shit is a part of the game.

Obviously some glitches are more broken than others. Glitches should be based on a case by case basis whether or not they should be removed. Sometimes a glitch allows a game to grow and other times they prevent a game from growing.

should the DHC glitch be removed? Not sure. I certainly think magneto shouldn’t have it though.

I’m sure it will be removed in the next build though.

Well, I’ve been having a ton of fun with it lately. I’d honestly prefer it to stay in.

But I agree with Shoultz that it’ll likely be patched in the next update.

so basically you are saying that every glitch/bug in a game is intentional and the developers specifically worked to put it in the game?

how can anybody think this was put in intentionally? cancelling from certain hypers, at specific times, with certain characters, into certain hypers with certain characters for a massive damage boost on your normal attacks? yea that definatly sounds intentional to me:rofl:

This shit is definitely a glitch…it’s just even when they take it away it wont really do much IMO to change the game. The issues with the game have very little to do with the glitch.

Do a tron combo into hyper king servbot and then dhc into dante’s devil trigger when the servebots eyes become bigger for a unscaled king servebot… I mean 2 meters and its good games same with storm and anyone following her

If you do the king servebot hyper and time it correctly for when the servebots eyes start to get bigger you get a unscaled king servebot into whoever you dhc to you can push 1 mill easy with dante and tron its crazy

How exactly were tick throws a glitch? LOL A jab/short causes a little bit of stun, after which you can throw. Even if they didn’t think this would be an abusable tactic, it was in no way a glitch lol C’mon now.

This guy combod me and it did a lot of damage, fix this glitch please!!!111

Yeah and when the DHC giltch goes away “This guy knows a big combo with Dante or Magneto and I like to play Dante too but I can’t do that and it took all my life plz patch”.

That doesn’t even make sense

 I’d be laughing really hard if I wasn’t in public. This discussion is going nowhere for a lot of different reasons. Mostly because the game is only a couple of months old and be having the discussion of banning shit that early in the game.

Yep, it was a glitch, and they fixed. Are you ignoring the creation of damage scale?

I’ll use the same example as before, MOBA’s. DotA is patched every month and it was played competitively for years (I think everybody plays HoN now). This idea of “if you nerf the character I play, I’ll stop playing!” of bullshit… there are hundreds of people saying things like this every day in WoW Forums and they still playing WoW Arena at BlizzCon.

Not fixing the game because you’re afraid to make a mistake doesn’t sound a good reason to me.
A perfect designed and balanced version of MvC3 would have this glitch? No, so take it off. If it really kills the game, you can re-patch and bring it back, but now there’s no reason to keep it.

I don’t think you can compare negative edge with a mechanic that allows you to one hit kill… As you said, “obviously some glitches are more broken than others”.

Do you honestly think that the future of fighting games are games with no health bar and every hit kills the opponent?

a glitch is an unintended programming flaw that exploits the game differently than what the developers had planned.

in the original sf2ww, I believe you could tick throw someone to death over and over because the game didn’t have a reversal or a tech throw. That’s why reversals and tech throws were invented, to help deal with the tick throws. If you got hit in the corner, chances are you could be done with meaty normal, tick throw xN.

when you can throw someone over and over and they can’t do anything about it because of the way the game is programmed, its a glitch.

This… this… mods lock this thread, its gone to far.

i would say that is just bad game design… in the same way that say, no invincibility on wakeup wouldnt be a glitch, just flawed design, brought through lack of experience mainly.

Pretty sure that was escapable, but I dont play much world warrior nowadays, so cant really test it.
