The DHC Trick - Damage & Hit-Stun Scaling Reset

How would they do it? Would the hitstun and damage scaling take a nosedive when starters perform the trick? I mean Zero snapback glitch wasn’t solved by just allowing the clone to snapback. They prevented Zero from doing it at all, and I believe Cap’s shield slash hitstun properties have change too.

I would imagine the patch would get a major update from now…

A glitch is a glitch, it doesnt belong in the game therefore they should patch it.

but mvc2 had glitches out the yingyang some of which were patched in later versions and some of which were banned for tourney play. regardless there were some damage glitches that whee never fixed and blatently explored I.e. juggs and tron

I’ve just confirmed that Felica can also do the DHC loop just like Storm. It’s not easy mode though b/c you have to modify the OTG into her Hyper and her Hyper leaves them lower to the ground so it’s only good for those that can act immediately after DHC such as Dante and Zero

I dunno, it’s pretty easy to 100% people anyway, and it uses meter so it’s not like it’s a freebie. It’s not like it’s horribly game breaking.

Combos were originally glitches in SF2, too.

no, just any combos/hypers after the DHC will continue to scale at the same rate that everything else does. this would by far be the most sensible way of doing it. none of this changing the properties of hypers so you cant DHC them, nothing along the lines of a character automatically teching out of DHC glitch setups. That way people can still DHC into and out of hypers whenever they want, they just no longer get the massive damage boost from the reset of damage scaling.

If they were going to take away either the Damage or Hitstun scaling reset, which would you rather have left in the game.

I would like to have the hitstun scaling reset left in, so that I can still do ridiclously long combos, regardless of damage. Then you could still get 100%s out of it but it would require Aerial Exchanges and alot of meter, thus giving your opp more chances to save themselves.

How do we even know this is a glitch?

My question is how was this in the game without it being placed their intentionally?

Someone had to have made these hypers reset scaling. In what game since scaling was created has there ever been moves that reset the scaling? It must have been purposful.

Edit: Originally in the beta’s of MvC3 characters would fall out of hyper combos if they had enough hitstun scaling (including beam hypers and such). So what I think happened is that during development the staff decided to reset the scaling on the hits of hypers themselves. The same thought applys to cinematic hypers except the scaling reset isnt applied to each hit of the hyper but is actually applied to the entire cinematic. So when the cinematic hyper is interupted by the dhc the scaling reset never leaves because the scaling reset is applied to the cinematic not to the actual hits of the hyper. However that still doesnt explain why its still in the game. Devs probably would have noticed. Maybe I give Devs to much credit.

if they patch the dhc glitch then they would have to patch xfactor as well, they’re synchronous exploits

X-Factor is not an “exploit” it was obviously built into the game and functions as intended. Its not like X-factor was something no one realised and the suddenly discovered.

Do I want it patched out? No. I think it adds more depth to the game.

Does it have a good chance to get patched out? Most definitely.

Why are people putting AEs in their combos when most of the time they can kill without it pretty easily. Why DHC glitch to Wesker, then do such a tiny combo. Almost defeats the purpose.
