Okay so why not put x-23 and Dante on the same team and use the DHC glitch with those two?
How does it get smaller? Are you saying that if you remove one aspect of a character that gets her more interaction and more damage you are going to make her less viable? If so, that is a retarded argument. Not only that but it won’t hold up in the long run either once things are settled. Characters are going to be good or bad solely on their quality as characters not on gimmicks.
Seriously all the people worried about DHC glitching probably looked at Team Z and thought it was a top tier team. But then again most of the people who are worried about the DHC glitch don’t know what Team Z is except for maybe the one game he wrecked in a match that he lost.
huh? They both can start and end glitches, but to follow up on one Dante only needs to spend 1 bar for Devil Trigger while X-23 needs to spend 3 for Silent Kill.
Why not put Dante on point with Wesker backing him, so you get an unblockable setup to go with your DHC glitch follow-up (wesker counter super)? You can still start DHC glitch combos as X-23 using Wesker unblockables, but then your third assist needs to set up Weapon X Prime and you also need an assist to help get in… so then you end up with Akuma on anchor. Now what’s the point of playing an X-23/Wesker/Akuma team and dealing with X-23’s faults when you can just play Dante/Wesker/Akuma instead and have a whole team that is undoubtedly top tier? Better yet, since Dante doesn’t need an assist for his DHC glitch setup, you can put a third in there that would make your team much more dangerous overall than a X-23/Wesker/Akuma team… like Dante/Wesker/Sent
DHC glitch makes the gulfs between characters bigger, not smaller. That’s all I’m tryin to say. I would like to see it gone just for that reason.
Yes it does, its so dumb that basic abc123’s kill characters. I think the damage in the game for basic abc123’s with characters like task/akuma/wolvy/ need to change overall though. At this point its like, who cares if they take out dhc glitch when basic shit kills you anyway.
STOOOOP! Capcom’s gonna hear
I didn’t know so many people had problems with it. I think it’s cool/interesting.
Wooow, some of you act like a character is suddenly unviable if they don’t have access to the glitch or someone “better” can do it as well.
It’s nowhere near the situation in Marvel 2 where the lower tiered characters couldn’t put up a decent fight against the God tiers. There are enough factors in MVC3 that you can still win the damn game with just about anyone you choose. The basic damage output alone makes it next to impossible to ever reach a situation similar to MVC2. Bottom line: Everybody has a fighting chance and yet people are still complaining. Whether the glitch stays or goes isn’t going to change that.
They could remove the roll cancel and buff the unviable characters. They could remove Urien’s unblockable and buff him.
I might be misunderstanding you, but you talk like the only option here is “to fix or not to fix the glitch”. There’s a huge amount of possibilities of things that Capcom can do to solve MvC3 balance issues, and a mechanic weird like that (the DHC glitch) is not a good one. I doubt any game designer would aprove the DHC glitch if it were intended.
It’s time to move forward. Back on 90’, we had to adapt to the game as it was, gamers got used to accept crappy mechanics/bugs because they have no other options (despite not to play anymore).
But times have changed, now we do have an option. I don’t understand why you guys want to regress…
Also, “combos we’re originally a bug and now they rox!” is not the best example, as they fixed it. (by damage scaling)
Why would you want to take it out? Top tier characters are still top tier with or without the DHC rescale. All it means is that I can add somebody like Thor to my team and have them actually be able to have damage output equal to the top tiers. It just helps character variety.
“But Dante can DHC glitch better, why not just use him??!!” For the same reasons people don’t just all automatically pick the best character in every other game. The DHC trick just means that more characters are usable.
Except for Captain American and Hsein-Ko, I don’t think the tiers are that badly set apart. It feels more like the tiers in this game need to be placed in the same way as pokemon (overused, underused, silly stuff etc.) until there is enough game time to set some starting tiers.
Getting rid of the DHC doesn’t make anybody better or worse, it just removes options from the characters for no good reason. Biggest problem here in the long run is that we as a community, after a lot of time playing it, will not be able to make the decision to keep it or remove it, it’ll just randomly disappear like Captain America’s infinite.
Because it’s presumptuous to talk about what “needs” to be addressed wrt balancing issues when so much of the game is either unexplored or underutilized as-is and the ramifications of various system/character quirks aren’t fully understood. If balancing tweaks and patches come at such a frequency that you have to re-learn the game every couple of months or so, then at a point it feels like you are fighting the game more than you are fighting the competition, and that’s not a good look. Sometimes all you need to do to “solve” balance issues is to get better with some different characters, especially when some of the roster has yet to be given a thorough look.
Then that degenerates the game into being forced to use certain characters because you HAVE to use that to beat another particular character or team. The game essentially becomes balanced by bullshit vs bullshit which is exactly what MVC2 and many other old fighters were about. Xmen vs SF a prime example. That’s not actual game balance at all.
I’d love to see it patched out. I just don’t think Capcom has the technology to do so, or they would have already.
(Waits for Marvelous Marvel vs Capcom 3: Ultimate Fate of Two Worlds edition to see this fixed)
I believe they have the technology to do so, but fixing the DHC glitch is time consuming considering they have to weed through each and every character’s code by hand and modify for the desired effect.
I’m not saying that they should imediatly buff all character that are bad according to my personal tier list. We’re talking about a crappy and weird mechanic that would never be approved if it was intended.
MOBA players “re-learn” their games all the time and no one have died because of it.
And sometimes you need to fix the glitch.
People who are complaining about “land a hit and they die” clearly did not play MvC2, or hated it really badly.
I love the DHC glitch, but I’ll admit I’d be pretty upset if it got patched. I like the characters I’m using and don’t want to use other characters just to stay competitive.
This statement is dead wrong. This game is 2 months old, and if you look at any game’s history you should know that’s not nearly enough time to judge what characters are and are not tournament viable. At this stage of MvC2’s life iceman was broken and guile assist countered sentinel.
dhc reset makes this game better. please don’t remove it capcom. if anything needs to be patched, its xfactors implementation. id rather my opponent use some skill with dhc glitch to pull off a big damage, 100% than abceabcesuper doing the same in xfactor. i like the idea of xfactor, but that shit is SCRRRRRUUUUUUUBBBBY in its current form. i understand capcoms intent (casual friendly, match is never over no matter how much you’re losing), :bluu:  c’mon son. GTFOHWTBS
They shouldn’t patch anything until after Evo.
Then, if they do, they should fix it and make any other balance-related changes in one fell swoop. Constant adjustments and patches turn people off the game because it wastes all the time they spend practicing, and gives them no confidence to practice more.
Think of the time people wasted on the Captain America infinite, for instance.
If it doesn’t land until after Evo, might as well just forget about it anyway and fix it in Super Turbo Marvelous MVC3 or whatever it gets called.
Nah. I dont think they should patch the DHC glitch. Its too fun to patch!
This should have closed the thread. LOL.
