The best Elliot in the world stands a strong chance of beating the best Kasumi in the world. That can’t be said for the best Alex in the world beating the best Yun.
Okay. . .
How does that change the point that Ninja’s are still top tier because itagaki wanted them to be cool versus balancing the gameto try to give as much characters a shot as you can?
Well, every game developer is going to have favouritism towards some characters.
As long as they’re not over-dominant or broken that characters below them obviously stand a good chance, what’s the harm? There’s top tiers in every single fighting game known to man.
The facts are that lower tiered characters can win tournaments, and ninjas do not completely dominant even though they’re the best characters statistically in the game.
They’re still top tier. My last post just beat down your last moronic trolling about ‘lol, oro beat chun no wai!?1’
The top tier isn’t as domineering as in 3S. You can’t deny it. So just get the hell out of this thread. I’m sure there’s some KOF thread you can make an ass of yourself in.
I never said it was, I explained the point. Beating a top tier character does not mean they are not top tier.
You first, since making an ass outta yourself comes second nature.
So, that makes it okay, especially when itagaki was bragging about how he upgraded the ninja’s whilst not doing the same to everyone else?
His excuse was since the rest of the cast uses real fighting styles he won’t give them too many new moves out of respect. The Ninja’s however use fictional variations of real styles, So, it’s A-okay to make them stronger.
Of course there are Top Tiers in every game, no one is denying that. My point is when a developer sets out to purposely make a group of characters top tier because he likes them. What real future does said game have?
I dunno, why don’t you go post in Geese’s Raising Storm thread and see how it goes?
Quite.
I’m just saying - Top Tier is fine, domination, broken and over-powerment are not. Ninjas in DOA are not dominating, broken or overpowering. So their favouritism lead them to be Top Tier… so what? I believe that DOA4 is a damn balanced game in its own right that the differents between the top and mid tier are not as significant as some fighters. Especially because of some universal measures in the game keeping it that way.
But that’s just imo.
I do not have anything against Top Tier, my point is when someone set’s out to make a group of characters he likes Top Tier then can we really expect much from said person in the future?
I don’t care what the future holds until it happens.
In DOA4.1, Ninjas are quite balanced even though they’re top, that’s really enough for me.
Well I could say the same thing about any fighter out there but I would just sound as ignorant. Dude seriously just drop it you are just trying to start up nothing.
Pretty much. Every fighter has tiers, it just matters how spread out they are.
The fact that they don’t have a dominate advantage over lower tiered characters makes this a pretty null argument.
As far as matchups go top tier vs the lower tiered characters.
Ninjas, Gen Fu and Lei Fang are pretty much the top tier (even though I said ninjas are top) but those 2 rank up their with them as well since they give the ninjas the most problems but their are also other chars too like:
Ryu has problems with Tina, Spartan, Jann Lee, and Christie.
Ayane has problems Spartan, Helena, Brad Wong, Leon.
Kasumi has problems with Spartan, Bayman, Brad Wong, Jann Lee, and Ein
Hayate has problems with Spartan, Bayman, Helena, Brad Wong, La Mariposa, and Christie.
Even though they have a little trouble with those chars they are still winnable fights for either side however the ninjas just have advantages against them. All of the above matchups are either 50/50 or 60/40.
But that goes to show you they aren’t as dominant as other top tiers from other fighters. Making it pretty balanced (and i am not trying to knock on any other fighters with the comment I just made either)
How does La Mariposa give Hayate some problems
Which fighting game has characters that were admitted by the creator to be top tier simply because he likes them?
What other fighters, you seem to keep mentioning several other fighters when the Ninja’s are brought up. I never said they were dominant, I said they were top tier simply because the creator is an moron.
Having a few bad match up’s doesn’t change what I said.
Tiers are in every fighting game, but they are usually on accident. Someone sets out to make a group of characters top tier simply because he likes them is dumb.
well even though it’s not that good but in Mortal Kombat Armageddon, Scorpion is top tiered and he’s Ed Boon’s fav. character, if you really want to count that
Is it any wonder Mortal Kombat get’s the kind of reception it does in shoryuken?
Anyway, Unless Ed Boon public announced that he would make scorpion stronger like itagaki did. It’s not exactly the same.
Her Range, evasiveness and her holds. Because of that he can’t really just rush into her like he does every other character even though he is still at more of advantage in the fight she can make it hard for him. Evasiveness with range is always pretty good.
Yeah, every ninja pretty much has their weaknesses to exploit.
Damn, I see Brad Wong has moved up the tier list a bit. Good stuff.
Don’t get too happy - we’re just agreeing that since the Master File has only solid numbers, it’s the only one that’ll ever be agreed upon. Even so, most of it seems pretty accurate from what I’ve seen. Maybe somebody hasn’t figured out what makes Brad Wong good yet 100%? I mean, with all those moves, he’s gotta have SOME tools we’re missing here. There’s is probably a simple way to play Wong solid that we’re all overlooking.
This is probably the most accurate list that’ll come out, and it came out at the start of 4.1 by the famitsu guys. So we should just stop worrying about making new ones every month or so.
That’s just imo.
