YEa hes a very defensive character tied out of 3 characters for the most evasive, has some pretty damaging holds and his offense is pretty good once he gets into his rhythm, but not being able to hit him is really tough to deal with and when you think you will hit him he ends up hitting you with a hold. Its pretty difficult to get in on Brad.
Ein’s biggest problem is well his holds suck and as far as crushes well they suck too same for Hitomi except she has a good mid kick hold and a punch parry, but shes just weaker than Ein as far as pure attack power. Jann Lee is in the same boat as them as well just he is a good attacker and he is powerful but his holds sucks and his crushes (or lack there of) suck and his holds don’t give you anything guaranteed really (mid punch and high kick) they are just setup holds and Dragon Gunner isn’t really + unless on counter hold or high counter hold.
Can’t wait till I get my 360 fixed, I’ve been out of touch with DOA for too long.
Anyway, doa-plus.com is the place to go! It may not be as active as DOAC but it doesn’t matter; as there is more of a focus on DOA there, and less fanboyism and chit chat.
I haven’t contributed much apart from some info on Ein’s oki game; but hey, that’s what you get when you don’t have access to the damn game.
Yes, please take note. Online Play = Higher game sales, More People Playing, and Less people running their mouth on an internet message board about stupid shit that you can never change anyway.
The only reason you want more people to travel is to grow the tournament scene so that there is potentially more money to be made, which is just stupid in my opinion. If you want to gamble, play blackjack.
“Less people running their mouth on an internet message board about stupid shit that you can never change anyway.”
Nope, more.
“The only reason you want more people to travel is to grow the tournament scene so that there is potentially more money to be made, which is just stupid in my opinion. If you want to gamble, play blackjack.”
Wow… Not even going to touch that one it’s so offbase. If people play competitive, they want competition. Therefore, they play in tournaments. What a revelation.
DOA already has money. More money than the community itself deserves. We want competition. People to actually be there. If you kept getting 8 man tournaments and 30 man “majors”, you would think the same.
If you want competition, get online, it’s all right there for you. This is not 1995 and DOA is not Street Fighter. The best competition for DOA is online. DOA 4 was designed for online play for crying out loud.
You don’t play “competitively” because you want competition, you play competitively because you want to win money or prizes, plain and simple.
fighter_guy, at first I kinda gave you the benefit of the doubt because you started some kinda interesting discussions even if you have like zero tact and don’t know how to get your point across. But now I see that you’re a troll(a shitty one at that) and from this point forward you will be dealt with accordingly. Shape your shit up or find a new board to post on.
Haha I knew it was going to eventually come down to that after all those other lists.
Ok, what DOA, would you two recommend for being the most competitive? Not talking numbers, but just what game in the series in general, being the best for competition.
I think people want a game where they have a chance, but not feel like they can instantly lose to bullshit beyond their control.
Keep doing what you guys are doing though. Because regardless of what someone thinks about the game or series, if it’s getting comp, and the community is sticking together and all that, then people can’t help but respect that. Even if they don’t like or play any of the games. People might gain interest just because they may feel they’re missing out on something great.
Both DOA 3.1 and DOA 4.1 are best for competitive play. 3.1 provides more guarantees (ESPECIALLY the wall) while 4.1 provides more options and mindgames. imo they both come out damn solid in the end.
I will always have a special place for DOA 3.1 after all the years I’ve played it. I love just as much if not more then DOA 4.1.
They’re just two very different styles, but you can take quite a liking to both.
Aight so, everyone pretty much knows that 4.1 is on the Xbox 360, but what about 3.1? How would one go about playing that?
Also, are there any match videos out there of 4.1 and 3.1 that show some of the best of what the game has to offer as far as gameplay? Like I mean, if you could convince someone in just 1 or 2 match videos what the game has to offer, what videos would those be?
Like what if someone wants to see matches of both games being played at it’s best.
Hmm a modded Xbox. That kind of makes it hard to access than usual. But hey, that works for Guilty Gear with modded ps2 though.
For 4.1 from Evo World and Dead of Winter, do you have any links to particular matches that stick out in your mind the most, or ones that would have the most draw and appeal to bring in curious minds?
aren’t there vids floating around of TB, Sorwah, and VP playing 3.1?? I remember watching various 3.1 vids a while back but can’t remember where i downloaded them from.
That wasn’t my point, though. I’m aware that the ninja’s are always High Tier in Doa. I have no problem with that really, But what was the point of making them even better in Doa 4?
It’s exactly what itagaki did, he made his Ninja’s dominate the game even more so then before.
Hayabusa for instance has an unbreakable izuna that can reach up to 150 points of damage in cetain stages E.G. Crash Club. That’s more than a grappler, and it’s unblockabe.
