Dark Phoenix takes more damage from certain moves than regular Phoenix.
Secondly no he proved that you can kill Phoenix low to the ground and still snag her. I have combos that will flat out kill her without using meter at all with the easiest of them being the double web swing, spider sting/bite combo. She dies on the final normal to which I could buffer in Doom’s missiles into UWT, the super finishes the missiles hit and then just finisher her off with a web throw combo, provided she lasts long enough to get to the web throw.

I was incorrect about my damage values for spidey. Xero is indeed right, DP does take more damage than regular characters… but only from throws. I don’t know if this is widely known yet. I tested it with normal throws, command throws (regular web throw is included in here), and throw hypers (such as UWT). All of these do 20% more damage to DP. Regular attacks still due their regular damage to DP. I was also incorrect about my XF1 damage for spidey. He only does gets a 25% percent increase.

I have a small caveat with your setup xero. How would you how to change the setup in the middle of battle so it can kill phoenix that isn’t at full health. It seems a little difficult, but your setup is so resource efficient it demands to be looked into more.

Not to talk trash, since this guy is clearly very good, but I think this shows what Xero is talking about when he says Wesker isn’t that great of a team mate. I think that team would be better off with a different assist that helped control space more and let spidey get in more/locked down for more opportunities. The OTG assist is good for combos, but doesn’t really help as much as you’d think, since I didn’t see very many unblockable setups (or any at all).

So I just lost 0-10 to honzo gonzo on his stream

could have won a few matches but overall was a poor performance,
kinda hard to get past the diagonal jump arrows from task and hidden missiles
but when i did get past and got an unblockable setup or a hit, couldn’t confirm due to my bad combo skilz

the reason that DPh takes more dmg from throws is ( at least IMO ) because she loses life while the time keeps going, that’s why a long combos / throws will do more damage. and that’s why killing DPh with long cheap dmg DHC supers (while catching her in the air so she can’t XF) become even more possible.

her health depletion has nothing to do with it. she just takes more damage from throws and certain cinematic moves. another fact people dont know is certain combos with spiderman wont work on phoenix but will work on dark phoenix, so her hit box is also changed. This only becomes important when you are attacking a phoenix with healing shield on.

So last night I was playing my boys and a couple of them ran Phoenix so of course I decided to test the new tech out. Shit definitely works even better though is I also killed her with c:h:, no x factor, and still caught her only thing though is you cant hit confirm it you almost have to kara time it so spidey is already in position by the time the chime sounds.

lol I used Spiderman in the actual MvC3 tourney I didn’t play in the mystery game tourney. In my defense though I can’t really do all the fancy things I know online.

Spiderman is just one of those characters that hits 1 million damage without the DHC trick but still using a DHC. Weird, huh? As a Spidey main I can’t say the DHC trick lives up to all its hype, though it is rather easy to do a lot of damage with it, there are still ways to do a lot of damage without it, just with a little more effort. Lol. Other character mains probably think the DHC glitch is a lot more unfair though just because they don’t have the same damage with the right setups that Spidey has lulz. Of course Spidey can even setup the DHC glitch if his other 2 partners have it as we’ve seen.

Anyway just a fun little video. I’m sure there could be more complex combos that do a little more damage but for now this will have to do for testing out a Spidey/Doom/Tron team.

I think you can use the gun grab move after spiderman hits, if it hits you can do a little more damage with king servbot super then lunch time, i can’t test it right now but if you have time test it to see if it works

It definitely hits allowing doom to dhc glitch off of it if spaced correctly

Interesting chemistry; Disruptor is just a great assist in general, especially for spidey, and comboing after 1 web throw ->Maximum Spider is a perfect setup for Shockwave. Also, BnB->Web Throw-> Raw Tag-> GRABBITY SQUEEZE will probably kill more people than I have philanges to count with.
