New thread again, what happened to the other one?
Qu’est ce qu’il ce passe ici?

lud trolling in french

so lud is french?

BTW AE will be ass.

word

Funny thing about this AE. Its just makes everything we have purchased basically worthless. Its like we are buying a new madden every 6-8 months damn near. I just feel sorry for whomever took time to actually get good at SF4… the readjusted to SSF4… now gotta try to adapt to 4 new characters and the whole system again… an never even have the chance to return to either version of this ‘series’

Also how is the ‘arcade stick’ game going and other venues? The hype has seemed to die down and I don’t hear much from the sponsored players… etc.

Are people still asking for autographs and stuff?

the system is still essentially the same. it’s just some character changes here and there.

Ok that cool. Then why not let this be free then? If its some tweaks and patches and they decided to toss 4 new characters in… I think this should been a free DLC for the SSF4 disc. I remember not too long ago we were promised goodies and such from the SF4 disc going into SSF4… nope. Just buy this, then buy some extra clothes. My point is just feeling super milked… I can afford it wit no problem for both systems, its just after a while you look an call it for what it is.

Can I have your autograph? Johnny Cage me please!

because there are a lot of changes. enough changes to warrant another release. but i’m saying the meat of the system is the same. option selects, mash reversal, mash jab, mash backdash, sf4 block stun are going to be the same. you are right though. capcom is def milking us.

ggs at CG, showed up a little late. My personal policy for SF4 is to screw counterpicking and just learn the matchups… but I can’t make any sense of the Chun/Rufus match. I get outplayed every time.

The thing I’m getting soured about re: SF4 is that it’s incredibly matchup dependent, and there’s a lot to learn, and they keep adding more. I’m glad they don’t keep adding mechanics, but I’m still not optimistic for AE, and SF4 is the only game I’ve really played since Vanilla.

i think spacing is key to fighting rufus. i haven’t practiced so i forget what to do vs rufus. but chun can fight him. it’s fucking hard. lud does it. she has some answers for rufus.

ppl still get their sticks autographed

i’m fine with shelling out $15 for the amount of stuff they put into AE, but I wish they had done more of a focus on true re-balancing rather than kind of making yun and yang sell the “game”

We’ve been calling it out now since vanilla into Super. I’m still debating on getting AE. Cause that also means I have to rebuy Super. But i’m not up for my characters not getting any worthwhile tweaks and having to relearn Yang in SF4 engine.

I’m getting AE… kinda mad it doesn’t drop until the afternoon. And waiting to hear what Ono has to say about SFxT…

AE probably won’t be as good as Super… but at least it’s new and different and not completely horrible

Agree with this. I get why people are feeling nickel and dimed on SF4, but game companies see DLC as a way to get money back on used games-- I’d rather Capcom get the money than Gamestop.

Costumes are nice and all, but if you’re going to update a game, balance tweaks should be more than the band-aids they are now. The artwork designers have been given plenty to do, how about the game designers start putting on some polish? To be cynical, for every person who wants 5-5 matchups, there’s probably 10 people who want Yun and Yang.

as much hours as most people have put into SF4 on these forums I don’t get how people can be complaining about $15 for the 4 new characters and endless amount of time that will be put into AE. The “rebalance” stuff is not part of what you are paying for, that stuff is free for people who don’t purchase it.

but the 4 new characters + additions to the replay you get with the $15. MvC3 was $5/character, $10 total, wasn’t it, for Jill and Shuma?

paying for costumes on the other hand … yea that shit is nickel and diming, but I just speak w/my wallet on that and don’t buy em. totally cosmetic and in some instances distracting.

i am working late tomorrow so i hope i can maybe grab the AE update before work and try it out a bit beforehand.

Well let me say this so people can really get my point. I don’t care about price… as stated above, I could go get SSF4 again for both systems and get the DLC. My issue is when is enough, enough?

I don’t know if this is the “final” incarnation of the 4-series but what if they revamp an reissue again?? Its like they are not giving time for a game to sink it an earn its place. I understand the business side to the fullest and the ‘hype’ for the fighting game genre is there with all these releases and ‘upcoming’ titles but I am at a point where I have to ask damn when can we let a game breath for a moment and stop trying to nickel and dime. I mean overall it just felt like SF turned to Madden release wise.

so wait I have to have Super before I can get the AE?

LOL!

not only does it feel like a Madden series now but at least Madden didnt have dumb as DLCs

i don’t know i don’t see an issue at all, and this doesn’t seem to be anything different with capcoms history of street fighter in general.

i bought street fighter 2 3 times on SNES back in the day too, and those games cost me a lot more than $60, $40, and $15. they cost like $50, $60, and $70. and i know you are saying it’s not about the money, but it was iterations of the same engine and game. but i guess super sf2 did change quite a bit w/the super combos.

i then bought it again on xbox (with sf:ac collection) and on xbox360 with the HDR version.

sf3 had 3 iterations as well, but i thought only third strike hit the consoles but I could be wrong about that.

but yea, to each their own. best voice is to speak with your wallet.
