i don’t see how you’d have to rebuy super, but it’s going to be a pain to try and play super on a ps3 that you’ve bought AE upgrade
I agree with this. Mainly I’m just disappointed in the fact that Capcom views the community as a way to sell more product, not as a final judgment to determine whether they have a quality game with the staying power of SFII. It’s a shame that Capcom skates by on the term “rebalanced” when they (and anyone with fighting game credibility that predates SFIV) know that AE is not better balanced than Super, just balanced differently. This is why AE is an update, not an upgrade.
This isn’t the end of the SFIV updates. We all have seen how effective 09er complaining can be with Marvel, so expect some balance patches to even out the twins and the rest high tier. Expect more costumes, and if they really want to put off another sequel, they’ll pump a couple more characters into the game sometime next year or so because they know these knew kids in the community can’t be pleased with a new thing for longer than five minutes.
Digital distribution changes the game. Companies couldn’t get away charging full prices like they could ten years ago if they tried. They know they don’t have to print complete games anymore, but they’re also aware that there are no arcades to draw an income from either. That’s what motivates the lower prices; the need to keep people buying. The gaming community has adopted the American Shopper mindset: take as much as we can for the cheapest price and complain when it’s not perfect because we feel our individual business is important. I could go into more depth about this but I’d digress.

actually i haven’t bought the game yet so i haven’t seen that functionality.
If that’s the case then i’m marginally impressed capcom pulled that off.
in that case either you update it by logging into their ps3 (unless it’s also ps3 specific which is a whole new load of pain) or you play completely out of box, which isn’t even the current ssf4 version really
on the bright side of the whole dlc trend of new games, at least capcom doesn’t release completely broken games (fallout new vegas) with a side promise that they’ll get around to fixing it someday
and not to single new vegas out i’ll toss in ff14 as another shining example

LOL yea…I saw a lot of that at the Richmond tourney. When a lot of them play people who are really good at the game, they’ll see how silly it can get.
